Hello hello! It seems people are starting to take an interest in my Trrah'gen race so i figured I may as well post some information about them in a journal, so, here goes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
History:
The Trrah'gen have been around for many centuries, constantly growing, evolving, and adapting to their world. Their race, over time, had developed multiple sub-species and each one having their own unique appearance and function. They are generally a civil and highly intelligent race, science being a high priority to them. They are very high tech from weapons and vehicles, down to the very homes and clothing they own. Although they take a generally tribal look, of which can deceive outsiders making them believe their race is more savage, they have some technology that even humans could only dream of. Instead of worshipping a god like most other races, the Trrah'gen worship ancestors, showing great respect to those still around or passed away. Elder Trrah'gen hold great respect from those younger, age and wisdom being honorable to them.
Technology:
The technology can range from terraforming to the creation of Holograms and AI's integrated in various parts of their society. Although they take a more tribal, casual appearance, they also have high-tech armor and suits for exploring space and warfare off of their home planet. Some examples of their technology is listed below:
-Terriforming: some devices are able to change gravity and atmosphere in a specific range, often used for small cities built under ground. These can be adjusted to have either a general effect, for allowing local fauna to accompany them, or specific to the Trrah'gen.
-Genetic modification: You read correctly, just as the Trrah'gen like body modification, they also go genetic as well. Generally, this is used to improve their races durability and over-all functions. Each generation becoming more durable than the last. They also do this to discover new skin patterns and colors, Trrah'gen love uniqueness. Sometimes it may be used to improve strength or other things specifically. Some Trrah'gen tribes practice more specific forms of genetic modification to fit their needs.
-Weaponry: As said before, the Trrah'gen keep a more tribal feel to them. The use of battle axes, war hammers, spears, bow and arrow, along with various sorts of knives are common when on their home planet. Most bladed weapons have a sort of laser technology to them, the edge of each blade having a laser-like edge, allowing them to cut through much more than simple metals could.
Offworld weaponry: Now this is where it may get fun. Some Trrah'gen tribes have taken to the stars, and such, they have adapted to the harsh strangers they have come across. These guys have more guns than blades, some of them using plasma type bullets while others may use spikes, or even harpoons. Theres also weapons that distort gravity, generally being in the form of a grenade but on rare occasions can be a heavy gun as well. Just about anything imaginable, within reason of course, could be used.
Anatomy:
Over the years Trrah'gen have evolved beyond the use and need of eyes, however the sockets still remain in the shape of the skull. The small orbs that trail down different parts of their bodies are sensory organs that act as a replacement for eyes. They still view the world the same way as eyes would, however they cannot move or blink, just the same they are fairly solid and able to handle being touched or bumped without problems.
-Gender differences: This should be quite evident. The females and males have differences similar to humans, however, females are larger and the ones in charge. Besides that, females generally have longer horns and ears than males, their horns usually more straight and flat. Males tend to have bulkier horns that often curve, made more for fighting and head butting, similar to a ram or goat. Both genders typically have long hair, usually pulled back and braided. ALL Trrah'gen are born with naturally silver hair. Ranging from greys and whites to full on silver. Herms are EXTREMELY rare, and often times they decide to go by a single gender once 'of age'.
-Reproduction: All right, be mature guys, as I do have to bring this up. Theres not really a unique way that the Trrah'gen 'do the deed', but it should be noted that the males have no external genetalia, which means that ALL of a males manhood is INSIDE and protected. When not aroused, they have an almost 'Ken doll' appearance, a small slit being where the penis comes out. Females however are for the most part similar to humans anatomically, shape being somewhat different from that of a human.
-Life span: The Trrah'gen are nearly immortal, it being rare for them to die from age. They can be killed by bad enough injuries but are generally immune to sicknesses. They can live for thousands of years, given they are able to fend for themselves that long.
-Body modifications: Here, you can go wild. Body modification is looked up to in the Trrah'gen race, anything you can think of can be done. The ONLY thing almost never modified is gender, the Trrah'gen stand proud of who they were born to be due to the lack of sexism.
Society:
The Trrah'gen are a race big on respect. Their views of how to show respect, or what it is may vary but it is practiced by all. Pride is up there as well, horns being a symbol of such.
-Disciplinary actions: The Trrah'gen are generally very forgiving to their kin, however not all things can be forgiven, such as murder. If the crime isnt too bad the one in question will be let off with a warning. Sometimes nothing more, other times a small carving in their horn as a warning to others of the crime they have done. If the one in question is a repeat offender with no sign of stopping, or has been accounted for murder, they will be exiled and dishonored. The penalties for such is the sawing off of horns near the base connected to their skull and being thrown out of the clan. Sawn off horns are a symbol of not being trustworthy. The lack of horns takes away what they were, leaving them 'bare' and not of their race.
-Symbolism: With the more tribal races, the more decorated, the more respect is given. Such is for the queens of tribes such as the Memuundo. The Queen often has many piercings in the ears and horns, having string hanging from the piercings and either beads or feathers on them. Satin-like material draped over the upper half of her body is also common. The cloth draped over the shoulders often must be sheer, allowing visibility as well as decor. Guards are often quite decorated as well, lacking piercings of the horns but having pierced ears or faces. Guards can be male or female, often times the highest ranking males act s her personal guards, among other things.
Important side note: Although FEMALES are in charge, ALL genders are equal, no matter the tribe or clan.
Tribes/Clans:
There are many different clans and tribes to name off, but seeing as both I dont have names for all and these guys are still a work in progress, I'll just name a few and their styles.
Memuundo: The Memuundo (Ma-moon-doe) tribe is one that has taken their home underground. These guys put terriforming devices to good use, mostly to ensure their massive underground city doesnt collapse under its own weight. They are extremely friendly and enjoy bringing in 'aliens' to learn more about them. They are keen to genetic and body modification, being highly appreciative towards those who have had such done. A large deal of this clan are hunters, therefore genetic modification geared towards strength, durability, as well as colors and patterns are highly practiced.
(Often members are very colorful, if they lack colors/patterns they may get tattoo's to make up for it. All Members wear tribal clothing.)
Zeshu: The Zeshu (zeh-shoe) clan is a very well known, and not at all trusted, clan of outcasts. Almost anyone exiled from any clan would be welcome here. These guys are often run by a vengeful mind, be it for a crime they did, or being framed for one, these guys are generally not a very friendly bunch. Manipulative and calculative, they are ones to be feared. In spite of their bad reputation, they generally leave neighboring clans alone and often accompany those who travel by space as a hired gun or simply looking for a joy ride or new home. Not ALL members are vicious, some being unfortunate to get caught up in their deeds.
(Members are mixed, ranging from colorful to more earthy tones. ALL members have sawed off horns.)
Hael'gen: The Hael'gen (Hi-el-gin) are a clan are often regarded to as the 'peacekeepers' of the Trrah'gen. Discipline and respect taught to all members at a young age. They have learned that words can be just as powerful as weapons, minus the bloodshed. The elders are highly respected and trusted without question, all the same the elders respect and protect the younger generations. It is asked from all parents that their first child be given up to be trained as a peacekeeper. For the first few years of their life, they are in strict training, only able to see their parents again once it is trusted that they are disciplined enough to not regress in their training. Although their main home is with the elders in their temple-like building, they are not forbidden to see their parents once 'of age.' The Peacekeepers can be male or female.
(Colors range from mildly colorful to earthy tones. All members have a Samari-esque style of clothing)
If theres anything else you wish to know about these guys feel free to let me know! If its something I havnt thought of I will add it in here. Thank you!
Just wanted to let you know as well, I'm working on a few more Trrah'gen adoptables if you're still interested.
