            The Chumscrubber
A rather bizarre little film set in a suburb setting that could easily be compared to the one in Weeds. The story concerns a teenager named Dean going to his friend Troy's house, only to find that Troy has hung himself. Not thinking any of the adults would care, Dean doesn't bother to tell anyone.
From here a strange string of events unravels, from Dean's psychiatrist father trying to push some pills into his son (all the while promoting his new book), Dean taking Troy's position as the school's drug dealer (and promptly losing the drugs), some bullies (one of whom dreams of being a fighter pilot, the other with parents who dream for their son to be perfect in every way) kidnap someone (who turns out to be the wrong kid), a wedding and a funeral that take place across the street from one another (and fight for parking space), and a mayor who slowly gets obsessed with dolphins.
Like I said, a bizzare movie. It's essentially a trippy satire on suburban culture (and has several moments that are quite funny), one that you shouldn't try to take too seriously. I'll admit, suburban satires are not exactly something that's uncommon, but it's still done well enough (certainly interestingly enough) here to be worth a watch (and isn't nearly as pretentious as American Beauty, so that's good).
Plus, gotta love that soundtrack (head to iTunes and look up Pure Morning by Placebo, you'll see what I mean).
