Legends of Sandstalker Contest

With the story ‘Legend of the Hunter’ on the horizon, in which the hero-hunting villainess Sandstalker will debut, I’ve decided to host a literary contest where you can write and submit a short story featuring Sandstalker and your own character/s involved in a hunt – or the aftermath of a hunt.

Read below for rules and further information.

Entry Rules:

- Sandstalker must be a prominent part of the story.

- The plot must revolve around either Sandstalker hunting your character/s, your character’s seeking to take down Sandstalker, or the aftermath of a hunt in which your character/s have already been captured by or evaded Sandstalker. Your story may end any way you wish.

- Other characters belonging to either myself or Wolfrider may also be used, but that is not a requirement (see links below for lists of usable characters).

- The story must be set in the Colmaton/Grant City superhero universe, but need not take place in the cities. Any location is acceptable.

- The story may be from any character’s perspective.

- Entries are limited to two per person.

- There is no story length requirement.

- Content may be General or Mature in rating.

The following elements may NOT be part of an entry:

- Extreme gore

- Scenes involving the death or mutilation of my characters or Wolfrider’s

- Extreme sexuality

How the Winners Will Be Determined:

Stories will be judged by myself, Wolfrider, and an anonymous third.

Essentially, what we’ll be looking for is a great story. What this means in the context of Sandstalker is a story that is creative, gripping, and faithful to the character. We’d very much like to see how people approach this peerless huntress and interact with her using their own characters. Sandstalker is a master of adaptation and preparation. How would she take down your character? Would she succeed? If so, how would your character cope with being a trophy of this villainess?

Feel free to focus on one or any theme, whether your story is more character-focused, hunt-focused, or otherwise. Humor, action, drama, any genre is acceptable.

Accurate portrayal of Sandstalker as a character will also be a focal point for the judges. You can find her profile here, as well, as several pictures featuring her. If any characters owned by myself or Wolfrider are used, accurate portrayal of them will also be considered.

How to enter:

To enter the contest you must do the following:

- Create a journal spreading the word about this contest and linking back to this journal post.

- Post on this journal with the link to your journal as well as stating your intention to enter the contest.

- When your story is complete, post it on your page and send me a link.


Prize:

The winner will receive a full colored and shaded commission of Sandstalker and his/her character in a scene of his/her choosing (three character maximum), done by the artist  jaijai who has wonderfully brought Sandstalker to life previously here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10583253/

The contest will be running between now and the 1st of September, 2013, for the duration of the story ‘Warrior of the Night.’ The winner will be announced on the 5th of September. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 PM on the 1st of September.
