it's always a good idea to have multiple channels to ensure you can spread the load and avoid straining any one location, wouldn't want FA to collapse from Fenoxo's update rate eh? though mediafire isn't a good idea, their ToS doesn't allow pornography if i recall right.

I had to do something similar with one of my sites recently. We had outgrown the shared server we were on. The problem was both the cost and which type of server was right for us. We decided that a virtual server was prefect both in cost and also services.

The two things that forced us to move was both due to the amount of traffic we were getting and the amount of server resources we were sucking up. I'd look at the difference between virtual and dedicated servers based on your needs plus how much you can spend yearly. Both act nearly the same and offer the same platform to run a site.

Be sure to check into other hosts as well. 18 hours to respond to a support ticket is crazy. (I work for a hosting co, between 7am and midnight 1 hour is the max we allow our tickets to go and average about 15 minutes.)

Letting tickets go that long either means there is not enough staff to take care of it or your business is not priority enough for them to answer right away.

I would recommend Digital Ocean, they offer super cheap and super sexy VPS servers, all on Solid State drives. I will NEVER use anyone else to host anything.

SoFurry did a new update regarding their outage around the same time. Apparently a lot of sites with 'furry' content got DDoS attacked which caused a lot of failures. Could this be what happened to CoC?

it happened to furrymate when they first went up, they've lost popularity since then though, mostly because they restrict things too much for free users, in the hopes that someone will pay to use a FURRY dating site... as if there are enough furs for that to be a good idea.
