Anthrocon 2013 Recap - Sunday

Nom noms at the Brown Bag with Strobes, Kavi, Pherric, Teddy, Sadie and Finn. Pherric and Shane would be leaving that day so it was a sad breakfast. After food we went to the Dealers Den to check up on stuff, buy things and I had to go visit the one and only Agent Elrond. We quickly ran back up to the room, put on our underarmor and our suits, and Strobes and I headed downstairs to practice one last time.
This was the first time all con where it was just me and Strobes, holding hands, being a couple, so my heart was beating incredibly fast from the excitement to perform with him. We practiced our routine like 5 times and got Abrahm to get a few couples pics of us. After that it was time to go into the main ballroom.
Ever since I found the fandom bac in 2010 and watched videos of the old AC dance comps, it was a dream to one day perform on that stage. I honestly thought it was a dream that would never be fulfilled. I really only truly started practicing dancing September 2012. I made it into the FurFright 2012, and FCN 2013 dance comps somehow. Me.... I've been performing since I was young, and I've been performing in an animal costume since freshman year of college when I got the mascot job. But never did I think someone would see my dancing as good enough to get into a fursuit dance comp, let alone the AC Fursuit Dance Comp.
When I walked onto that stage to see what it'd be like, I swear my heart stopped beating and didn't start up again till after I performed. I shed a few tears, but nobody would know cause Gale is always happy.
I walked backstage, holding the hand of my boyfriend and we popped our heads and prepared for the dance comp. Speeches were given by JD and others, speeches that filled every finalist with passion and fire to kick butt. And dear lord.... everyone fucking killed it. KILLED IT. Omg watching everyone dance on the big screen back stage.... if only the audience could see how into it we were getting! Then it was our turn. Strobes and I again held hands and walked out onto that stage after our name was called. The roar of the audience was unreal. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends. We performed, people seemed to enjoy it.... I wanted to crumple to the ground from being overwhelmed. Overall I was very happy with how we did. Everyone else went, and it was time for the top three. And I couldn't agree more with the choices! Zoomba got 3rd, Sadie got 2nd and Skye got 1st.
Let me tell you that I agree with what Atsu said before announcing the winner, "Skye is one of the most underestimated dancers in the fandom". He is in fact one of my absolute favorites and he has been for quite some time. I'm very pleased that his wealth of talent was finally recognized. I cried hardcore tears of joy when his name was called.
After that was showertime. I then ran and picked up the art I won in the art show and made it to the China Buffet just in time for JD, Theome and others to give their speeches. Feels man. Insane feels. That dancer fur dinner was the best dinner <3
Soon there after it was time for everyone to chill, hang out, talk, have dance battles, drink and do shenanigans. My good friends Dare and Palace wore Gale and Nexus and had a great time. It was their first time suiting, so I was happy to be there for that experience! I wore Dew Shep that night and danced the final night away with my best friends beside me.
Sleep was lacking, and was then followed by an emotional breakfast with the gang, packing up of rooms, packing of cars, and lots of tears.
