What do you think of the MLP fandom?

What do you think of the MLP fandom? are you I'm favour of it? against it? Thimk it should be separate from the furry fandom? What are your thoughts on it? Is it just a fad that will end in a few years or something that's here to stay?
If you are a kid and like it well that is fine.
I wish there was TMNT every were on the internets but not nearly as much as this sickening MLP stuff. >.<
Dunno if liking TMNT makes me a hypocrite or not but I've loved it from 1988 till presently. ;)
I never have liked the original or the new MLP show.
Yes it should be seperate from furry as they are focused on a fictional series that is from someone elses idea's
I believe it wont last forever, its not really a community, just a fad really
But I'm not a religious fan, those who talk in pony talk to everyone, say "clop" instead of "fap", say "dear sweet Celestia" instead of just "OMG", etc.
I think the problem people have is normally with people, not with fandoms. I can understand that because at one point I thought I hated all Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc. All religious people. Now I've discovered that I only hate the INDIVIDUALS that do awful things, not the beliefs themselves.
They need not be separate from the furry fandom any more than Lord of the Rings fans need to be separate from the furry fandom. Enjoying the furry community and enjoying some show, book, movie, etc are not mutually exclusive. If the individual decides that he/she feels more X than furry, then so be it...for that individual.
I'm not a big fan of MLP, but there seemed to be so much drama regarding the banner last year, and yet I have not really heard any such complaints about the Animal Crossing banner this year (maybe I'm just not surrounded by enough drama, for which I am grateful). One could argue that Animal Crossing is childish, or at least, it lacks the depth of storyline that more adult-oriented games, shows and films do.
It will probably stop being hyped in a few years, but the fans will still enjoy it. And maybe in a few decades it will come back, who knows?
The bottomline is live and let live. If something bothers you...stay away from it, that's what I do. Add it to your blacklist if such an option exists. I don't like seeing plenty of things and if I can't stop them from being shown, I just live with it. It's not going to kill me.
However, I must admit that some members of the fandom are too annoying and too obssessed with it. Those are the ones who give us a bad reputation.
For example, I won't force you to watch the show, but at the same time I won't allow you to criticise something without seeing it first. But there are "broninazis" that will force you to watch it, that don't have anything else in their minds and that will spam and troll everyone who thinks different.
Well, that's something that happens in all fandoms, actually
MLP stuff is kinda of like a sister to the furry fandom since they are animals with humanistic characteristics. I personally don't care about MLP stuff because mostly when I was growing up, if you were a guy watching MLP then you were called a girl because it was a girl show back in the 90's. I mostly just let them be.
As with all fandoms, it';s primarily assumed only boys/guys are part of it, well not this person, I is a GIRL :P PLus I love all other sorts of fandoms & stuff that supposed to be a boys only domain, HP, LOTR, HALO, Transformers the list is never ending to be honest.
The thing is, if there's something out there, it doesn't need to just be for boys or just for girls, why does society to feel the need to seperate into those gender specifics?
I grew up not only playing with my barbies but with Thomas the Tank Engine, I love blue & pink, I played skipping rope games with the girls & played armies with the boys.
I don't think of myself as a true brony though, sorry, I like the term Pegasister better :P LOL
There are so many crossovers into the Furry Fandom, just as there are in all other fandoms, if it's not harming anyone & MLP is not doing that, then what is the problem with it?
The again I'm a little more sore towards it these days after previous experiences with a brony
And there are the ones out there who even Bronies hate to see, the ponyfags are the ones who want everyone to be in the fandom and cant except people not liking it or can't cope with someone putting the show down with out lashing out like a moron. (i.e. the over done fanboy that no one likes))
as for mixing it with furries, I guess that works for the ones who like equines but if I'm to see a NSFW pic I prefer for them not to have the actual looking genitals, kinda weird (for me, I'm sure others like it) cause I'd rather see it as anthro style, but that would be a matter of opinion, as for attitude and behavior to others, anything as listed as furfag or ponyfag, would label them as borny furfags or whatever you want to call them.
now to apologize to those who feel fag is offensive to gay people.... it's suppose to be offensive to all. cause there is gay, and there is fag. I'll skip gay cause we all know what that is but a fag is the people who are like the attention whore people, the 'so gay you sneeze glitter' people that even gay people hate cause they are just that annoying. so that's why 'fag' is labeled after the negative name for each thing (i.e. fag, ponyfag, furfag, potterfag, etc)
They are theoretically a subset of furry, but what makes them kinda separate and different is just how into this one show they are. It's a very focused fandom, whereas furry is very general. If MLP was one part of many, they'd fit with furry. But if MLP is The Big Thing for a person, it's gonna be hard for them to relate to furs who just don't care about it THAT much. So it's a good thing there are separate resources and hangouts and cons for bronies, and people who are both furry and brony are learning to compartmentalize better.
I saw 2 or 3 episodes. It wasn't terrible. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch more, but if I was over at a brony's house I could watch it with them. Just, like any show, I'll get sick of it after a couple episodes and ask to do something else.
My prediction is most people will move on from it in about 2 years, just my intuition. Its focus is too specific to last very long as a major fandom. But by the time it's done it'll have had a really really good run all things considered.
I think the energy has calmed down a bit, either that or I've distanced myself from the fandom more than I thought, but I find a lot of the people seem to be extremely creative, with music, stories, and some of the characters they create...it's kind of nice to see. ^^
