I never realized he was so heavy! Wow! That makes me admire what you do all the more, because your movements and gestures in Roo have always been so fluid and so well-articulated, and you always made it look so easy. Looks can be deceiving, I guess ;).

I weigh about 95 lbs soaking wet, so, that settles that ;).

No Silly. I currently weigh that much. Meaning someone around my size can fit in it. The suit itself probably ways 40 pounds.

Why would it be shady? Full suits usually go way over $2000 and here is where he has direct contact with the fans of the character.

I feel it may even be less shady than Furbuy.

I can see profiles of those who are interested.

I was advised that this be the best auction. Ebay I hear has many fake bidders plus extra fees.

The description of the condition and sizing of the suit is detailed enough that buyers are easily able to make an informed decision on whether or not they'd like to spend the money. :)

A well-known fursuiter with an instantly-identifiable suit is selling it where they'll get the most interest. I don't dance or go to furcons, and even I'm aware of this character. Were they to be "shady," it would tarnish their reputation, so that would be like shooting themselves in the foot. Everything is displayed in a professional manner, with multiple ways to contact them.

That's like people who have really sweet guitars who never play them and just keep them hanging on the wall, collecting dust. A suit deserves to be loved and worn, it deserves to inspire smiles and laughter. Mangusu is doing the right thing-they feel it's time for the suit to move on, so they're giving someone else a chance to give it life.

That, and asking a decent price for it all but ensures whoever gets it will be inclined to get their moneys worth by wearing it out and about. This is win/win. Mangusu gets to see the legacy live on and you get to continue to enjoy the dancing roo (hopefully)

I am not a suiter. But this suit is the one suit I've seen that has just the right amount of clever, cuteness, and awesome to make me want it. I saw you tear up the floor in it at FWA these past couple of years and so far only Sarudyon has had comparable performance in fursuit.

I want this suit. But since I am neither a fursuiter nor a dancer, MonsterRoo's personality would completely change. Also there are aspects of his being that do not match with mine (my shoe size is Men's 12, for example with a 36 waist. If it's snug for you, I'd probably have to have it modified.)

So I'm torn. I could afford it, but I don't think I'm the kind of person you'd particularly want to have it, since the guy would probably languish for a while before making any con appearances, and once he did start showing up he'd be very...different.

MonsterRoo definitely needs to go to someone who will do him justice. He's one of the few fursuits I think aught to be inducted into the Furry Museum, assuming we had one.

Does the Furry Museum offer revenue? XD

Buy the suit, find a really great dancer with a really great personality who can't afford a suit, let them wear it to cons?

Buy a car for $1500+ and let someone else drive it around town in heavy traffic.

Its a happy sight that if sold, he'll most likely be seen on con floors more than stages. People can actually interact with him. Otherwise I'd leave him in a box and he'd collect dust.

I think what you're doing is awesome. It can't be an easy thing to do. If I could afford it and had the physical ability to, I'd buy it and dance in it as often as I could.

Very true, it will be different to have someone else portraying him though, I think that's the hard part for myself with it. MonsterRoo is a very large character in the fandom imo but he will get interacted with because of his popularity.

Honestly Mangusu Don't Sell him. If i was you hold on to him. you can always buy another fursuit for dancing. but use him too. He is ment for you. You got Way to many memorys with that fursuit. I also have a pic of me and you doing the mirror thing from the fwa dance comp. people will agree with me dont get rid of it dude we all know how much you love it.

I'm not a Roo. I'm not even a fan of Monster Energy. It was just a colorful idea I created out of the Soda Roo craze back in 2010.

There are much more important things to me than a fursuit.

But you think someone can pull him off just as good as you or even better. Please don't give it to some creaper. know someone u know who would take good care of it. before they get it. its too good to just give to anyone dude

Selling Monster-roo will make room for better things in the future, perhaps, think of it that way. (and it's to my understanding that Monster-roo, given the padding, tail, etc, was a bit of a chore to move around in, let alone, dance. Mangusu is a fantastic dancer and performer, more so out of the big suit. A less cumbersome suit would probably showcase his talents far better than Monster-roo.)

Also, it's a just a character t perform as. A fursuit. It's not like he's quitting the fandom.

I think you can tell by the response that MonsteRoo gained a lot of fans, part of that is obviously masterful design choices, but even more of it is what you put into him. I can understand your reasoning for moving on, and yet I guess I hope that you will always carry at least a little sentimentality toward him.

I hope he goes to someone who cares about the character, whether they dance or not. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the new guy.

I can honestly say I am not super surprised that you've turned to selling him. I remember you saying that you were not really attached to him because of... well, everything about him.

The whole furry fandom stuff was "sort" of interesting to me, but what really captured me was Monsteroo and Buddy (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/himynameisbuddy).
I just hope that Monsteroo is bestowed on someone as worthy as his creator. If there was a furry hall of fame, I'd put Monsteroo and Buddy right at the top of them all.
By the way, another one (probably not as much as Buddy or Monsteroo) that I liked a lot was Tac. But as I understand, Tac just didn't want to cooperate with you, eh?

It was awesome to see you at Confuzzled! After watching the dance competition though I kind hoped you'd get a different suit, as you seemed restricted and you look like quite the talented dancer. you know that the suit isn't him right? because its really rude to say 'were' when he's still around. it's just the suit that's leaving, not the spirit or the dancing or the attitude.

I know that, I'm not stupid; it was just that suit was a reminder of the many videos. BESIDES it's not rude, what's rude is calling out someone for no reason.

so why wouldn't you just say "i'll miss the suit" rather than you were something because that makes it seem like he won't be whatever image you had anymore. also, if you think someone replying to a comment is rude then that's kinda unfortunate.
