Reasons for commissions/art slave.

So I've been asked a few times why I'm doing the art slave auction and such. I thought I'd give a explanation for it and let people have a better understanding while commissioning me and bidding on my ASA.
My original plan for this was to save up for a new 3DS I've wanted for a very VERY long time. I never had enough money to get a brand new one, and the ones I did find on Ebay were cheap but the shipping always killed me, so I wasn't able to get it or save enough money for it. I gave up on looking for one about a week ago and then thought I shouldn't give up and try again. But, my parents are asking if I could help them with the bills and help us get through the week so that way we have food and such until my dad gets his weekly pay.
My dad has a job but it's not much. He recently got this job so we can pay the bills and get on our feet so the tension and the stress in the house would subside, along with that, my dad doesn't like to just sit in the house all day, he needs to move around and keep busy to keep himself from going crazy. Also, since the job didn't pay him the very first week of his employment, we're behind a lot in bills and rent. This is stressing my grandparents also (Since they rented this place for us and we owe them $100 a month in rent.) they don't need that stress and I feel horrible about it. But with my families luck, it never seems to let up and there's always something wrong. So I gave up my hopes of getting a 3DS and help my parents, I'd do anything to keep them happy.
I have to earn up to $500 to get on our feet.
