>D: Head back to the village

The thought of going further with this moment with Phio having any ill results finally makes you realize that this might have been a mistake, and you pull away from him suddenly. With an apologetic expression on your face, mirrored almost perfectly by the Lion in front of you, you turn away to finally pull the leather strip over your shamefully exposed chest. Now that logic was returning to your addled mind, you could only see that there was no good reason for such strange behavior. After a moment of looking away from your friend out of embarrassment, you decide that it's time to try to focus on getting back home. After all, you had the Glowstalk extract that you needed, and there was no real reason to get any closer to the Canids at the moment. Plus, the terrain of this place was starting to creep you out, and you wanted to get back to the more familiar jungle.

"We're clean, so let's go get Dorza and Dorze."

Phio merely nodded at your suggestion, apparently not yet ready to talk. With that, you both head back to the cave, only to find that they had already woken up and were waiting. Dorze was the first to make a remark.

"And where were you two? Not doing anything we wouldn't, I hope?"

You feel a slight blush rising to your cheeks, but you deflect the question.

"Never mind, we're going back to the village as soon as we can."

Dorza chimed in as soon as he heard this, quickly defusing any rebuttal that his sister may have been preparing.

"Good, I hate this place. It's so... open, compared to the jungle. The trees are too far apart. If those are even trees."

You ignore his comments for now, wanting to get going as soon as possible since the trip is going to take awhile just as it did last night. Without any further conversation, you start walking in the direction of Nanako Jungle, remembering the way perfectly. Your friends keep up as your walk turns into a run, and soon you are sprinting until the forest's landscape changes again, shifting into the more familiar jungle terrain. Once deep enough, you bound up into the nearest low branch and jump from tree to tree. Finally, you're back to doing something you're actually used to doing. As you travel deeper and deeper into the jungle, your mind slowly processes a few things. You realize that you had not just pushed yourself on Phiodel, but you had even gone as far as to KISS him. There is no getting around how confused that makes you feel, but you're sure that it must be just as bad for him- afterall, he had someone to care about just a few days ago. This whole ordeal was likely going to change a few things between you and him, and it will be your fault if things go sour because of it.

Time passes, and it takes a few hours before you realize that your vision was becoming just the slightest bit blurry, and your nose was less receptive to the natural scents around you. Even your reaction time was becoming a little bit slower. The sense-dulling effect of whatever the Canid's were doing to the Felinid Hunters had taken effect again, but at least now you knew that you were getting close to the village again. And sure enough, just a few hops later, you could once again see the walls off in the distance. It doesn't take much more effort to reach the main gates and get back to ground level. Everybody takes a moment to breathe, and you silently enjoy the fact that Wenta citizens were still wandering the streets. It looked as if there were no attacks on the village today, which was definitely a good thing. It gave you a moment to think about what should be done now that you were back.
