I'm SO ticked. Please read this.

I'm familiar with U18chan. I used to visit to enjoy Doujin that people translate into English (from Japanese). And yeah, it's true that people do post much more than that there, taking things that they can understand and could easily purchase (when actually for sale) and posting them for free. Sometimes, those artists catch wind of it and have their stuff removed. Jaleo's case is no different.
He went to U18chan and contacted someone there, asked them not to post his art, and to remove any of his art that was elsewhere on the site. They responded by cussing about him, mocking him, calling him names, because they feel like he can't do anything about their actions, and because by default (and like F-chan), U18chan requires no logins and guests can post anonymously. No one has to see their usernames and be upset at them. It's crap.
This is what I had to say about it:
"Wow. Someone who works hard and clearly has license to sell his work catches people stealing it, and when he catches you stealing that work, giving it away for free here, and simply asks for it to be removed, THIS is how you guys behave?
Does the furry world really have such utter douchebags in it? People who are caught doing something they KNOW is wrong and laugh in the face of the person truly being wronged, having his stuff stolen?
You make me sick. I hope each of you are banned from whatever furry sites you're a part of and never get to see another piece of furry art again, because it's rubbish like you who cause talented artists who work hard to make a living off of what they do (and I don't give a crap if it's not all his art, Jaleo is a great artist) to put their pencils down and leave. It's people like you who bring utter shame to the furry world, and you think you can get away with it because you can hide behind your freaking keyboards and Anonymous nametags here, you think you're safe from the retaliation of anyone who sees what you're doing.
Sick. Sick, sick people.
And yeah, badmouth me all you want. My furry name's Lukos, my FA account is NotLukos. I dare any one of you to talk to me there if you have something to say to or about me or Jaleo or all the "meany heads," and quit hiding behind your precious anonymity. Let's see where your balls are when your name tag doesn't say "Furrynomous." I stand by every word I said here, and Jaleo and the people you say think you're all "meany heads" and the rest of the freaking furry community could do with a lot less of this crap."
I mean every word. Sure, you go there, you see things that are good that you probably couldn't access otherwise unless you pay for it, it's intriguing. Wrong, yes, but it happens. But this atrocious response when the artist politely asks people not to steal his stuff? This is the furry community we belong to? For crying out loud, F-Chan has strict rules about posting art that's supposed to be for sale, and stuff from artists who don't want their stuff posted. Why would people behave this way on a similar site just because it's more lax?
Bull. Total bull.
I also know the isseus as I have a friend who draws by hand the old way and it takes her many hours for one piece. I inform her or other artists I support if their art is on the net.
I don't care if they mock me, or troll me, or cuss at me, or whatever. They can make fools of themselves all they want, and I voluntarily stepped up to take it, but Jaleo? He doesn't deserve that. Even if he's no Michelangelo (and seriously, who is?) his art happens to be really good, better than many of us can do, and I despise the fact that people (who are toeing the line of legally doing something wrong, mind you) would just verbally kick him in the balls just because he wanted to have some say over what happened to his own damn work.
At this point, as it is, it's probably not worth all the headache. But those suits can and do happen for various things. One of these U18chan guys posted a shout to me saying digital art has no value, but then... why do we pay for digital music, digital games, digital software? What makes digital art any different from that? Across all of those, someone spent a long time creating something. Of course it has value, and that's part of why those copyright laws are in place.
