FAQ
Below are a short listing of questions I get asked often enough that I figured I'd write this up. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them in the comments.
Who knows, if your question gets asked enough, I'll add it to this FAQ.
The following questions are in no particular order.
1. Do you do free art or requests?
No, I do not do free art or requests. My art is my livelihood and I just don't have the time to do free artwork like that. Any artwork in my gallery labeled as a "gift" was done in my free time for good friends.
Do you do trades?
Rarely, and when I do, I usually initiate the trade because I know I'll have the time to come through on my end of it.
2. When do you open for commissions?
The answer to that is all dependant on what sort of commission you're looking for.
I'm open for sketch commissions in streams four times a week. Regular commissions open on Fridays at 7 PM CDT. Reference sheet commissions open on Fridays as well, when I'm able to clear my reference sheet queue.
3. When are your sketch commission streams?
I run sketch commission streams on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 12 PM CDT and 6 PM CDT. Once a month, I run a special Saturday Sketch Stream at 2 PM CDT for those unable to get a sketch during the week.
4. I'm not sure if what I want is something you'll do, can I PM or IM you?
No. Because of the unreliability of records keeping in site PMs or messengers, I only use e-mail for business communications.
You can e-mail me at avianfoxproductions[at]gmail.com and I'll try to answer your question as kickly as possible. Putting "Idea" in your subject line will help to speed up my response.
5. I'd like to chat with you sometime. Can we chat?
Sure, but please keep in mind that I'm busy nearly all week. If my messenger is set to Away or Do Not Disturb, please respect that and not IM me during those times.
6. I got a piece of artwork from you, can I post it to my gallery?
Of course you can, provided you link back to my gallery and give me due credit for the work.
7. Can you finish out a picture you did for me previously?
I can AND I give you credit for what you already spent too. Just link to my copy of the submission when placing the order.
8. Can I color a picture you did for me?
Sure, as long as you're not claiming credit for the linework. Remember to link back to my gallery when you upload it...and drop me a line, I'd love to see it myself.
9. Can I pay someone to color your linework?
No. I do not under any circumstances allow others, beyond the commissioner and those featured in the commission, to modify my work without my expressed, written permission. This goes doubly so if they're being paid.
10. Can I color linework in your gallery for practice?
Short answer, no. Most of the work in my gallery are commissioned pieces, and I have to protect my client's interest. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but they trust me on that, and I don't want that trust shaken.
11. I found some of your artwork posted online, what should I do?
Well, if it's something like e621 then don't worry about it as long as I'm sourced. If I'm not, point me to it, I'll add the source myself or have the image removed.
If it's a paysite, please let me know immediately.
If someone is claiming the artwork themselves, or they've modified it, please send me a link so I can look over it.
12. I've filled out your order form, but I can't find your Paypal address so I can pay for it. How do I pay for my order?
Because of how strict Paypal can be at times, I only do business with the use of invoices. This is why I asked for your Paypal address in the order form. Once a price has been agreed upon by you and me, I'll send you an invoice. Just follow the procedures in the e-mail Paypal sends you and it's paid.
13. I can't pay for my commission right now, can I pay it next week?
No. All payments are up front before work ever begins. I do not allow people to "hold spots" and as far as I'm concerned, that's what would be happening. Please order your commission when you've got the money in the "bank", so to speak.
14. How long do I have to pay an invoice once it comes in?
24 hours. If it goes longer than that, then I'll cancel the order and offer the commission spot to the next person in line.
I work on a very tight, fast paced schedule, and any delay longer than that can throw my whole week off. This effects not only your commission, but all the other people ahead of, or behind, you.
15. I was in your stream and sent a link/made a comment/etc, and this guy in there told me to stop. Who is that person?
If that person's name was SkylorForscythe, then you've met my chat moderator and the guy that handles the sales in my stream for me. You need to listen to what he says, or you could be banned from my stream.
He has my full support in the decisions he lays down, so going "above his head" won't work.
Not to say this happens often. It's a very rare thing, and the first time he's just giving you a gentle nudge to get you in line with my chat rules.
Please do not argue with SkylorForscythe, however, when he's telling you you're breaking the rules. This unto itself is against the rules, and can be grounds for immediate banhammering.
16. Your sketch streams fill up really quickly. How do I get a sketch in there?
That's parts a tough one, as there are a few "techniques" to doing that.
The most common one that I've seen is people bookmarking my stream address, opening the page before the stream, and waiting with "I'd like a sketch" or something else clear ready to post into the chat when we open.
That's all I've got for now, ladies and gentlemen, but not all that there are. If you have a question that wasn't answered above, please ask it in the comments below.
Thank you all!
