but monsters attacking Japan....nothing new there. They seem to have an obsession with seeing cities destroyed by monsters over there.....Japan you're weird.

There is actually a reason for that though, and it's really interesting.

The Kaijuu is a metaphor that represents the unchecked detrius of human society. Godzilla is accidentally created by man when man neglects to fully understand the consequences of its actions (Like dumping nuclear waste). Godzilla becomes the consequences that smack man down in his arrogance.

What inspired Godzilla? The nuclear bombings of WW2. The monster was a metaphor for the fear that perhaps mankind had finally gone too far, and was overdue for a comeuppance.

The ironic thing is that over 50 years later, we're being threatened by the potentially dire future brought on by global warming.

well I do know they have a huge affinity with WW2 and the atomic bombs (look at the likes of Akira), but I do think they can have a bit too far with some of the things they do o_o

Tokyo Drift was already a sequel in the Fast and Furious franchise. In that movie, "drift" referred to a trick you could do with cars that had a manual transmission, rather than "drift" being the way of synching up brainwave activity between pilots.
