Dad was in great spirits today. The surgery yesterday was a success as a lot of the infection has been cleaned out. They did remove some of a tarsal, as well as his bunion, to keep the infection from resurging. Thus, while he is in no pain, his right big toe will be shorter. He was bored as all hell and wanted out of the hospital, but the surgeon and infectious disease doctor have to consult on monday before they decide on where he goes after he's discharged.
