Good afternoon My subjects,
I wanted to do a little PSA about one question that get asked frequently: why don't you want to RP/get art/etc with my character?
I get this question a lot, and rather than giving the same answer over and over again, I felt it would be good just to address it once. It has to do with sexual preference and what I am trying to do with the Etheras character.
Sexual preference is often misunderstood. Its not hate, or racism, or sexism. Some things tickle our libido and some things don't: that's just the way it is. Some people are turned on by boys, some by girls. Some like young, others like old. Some like skinny, others like fat. Some like muscular, others like lithe. Some like dark, others like light. Some like dom, others like sub. Some like good girls, some like bad boys. Some like amputees, or midgets, or ... whatever. I happen to be turned-on by equines; zebras, horses, and ponies in-particular. Equines are "my thing". I could go on and on about how I see them as noble and gentle but strong, but that would deviate from the point of this journal, and that is: people have sexual preferences and that's okay.
If a person of another race doesn't want to date you, that doesn't mean they're racists. If someone has a different sexual preference to your sex, that doesn't make them sexists or homophobes. They are turned-on by what they like and you do not fall into that category. There's nothing wrong with that. What *is* wrong with that, is if you try and make them feel guilty about their preference if their preferences don't complement your own. If you do this, you are the one being intolerant, petty, and spiteful.
Now... people have come to me accusing that I "hate" them because they're not equines. That isn't true. I love my RL brother, but that doesn't mean I want to have sex with him. Not wanting to have sex with someone is not the same as hate. I can be friends-with and appreciate people that I do not have sex with.
Others have said, "Just give me a chance". But this is abusive. What they're really saying is "I get to fulfill my sexual preference by having you, but you should compromise your own sexual preference for my sake". That is: "I can have what I want, but you're bad if you demand what you want." This is hypocrisy. It brings up images in my mind of a dork saying to the prom queen, "Why won't you date me? You're so shallow. Can't you see past the surface? Shame on you!" If appearances aren't important, why does the dork court the prom queen? What he's actually saying is, "Because you're beautiful, its wrong of you to want someone beautiful, but because I'm ugly you should look past it." This type of double-standard is reprehensible.
Anyway, I feel like I've gotten off on a tangent. What it comes down-to is this: love and sex should be win-win for everyone involved. If it isn't, its abuse... or at the very least, its charity. People have preferences and that's okay. Trying to make them feel bad for it is not-okay.
For me? I like equines. Etheras does not have sex with non-equines, (except sometimes with girls... I'm a little less strict about females). So please, no more of the "Just this once? Come on!" or "You're so unfair!" or "You hate me because I'm a cat/hyena/dog?" or "I have a big cock too, that's what you want isn't it?"
I am an equine fetishist, and that's okay.

Just a silly thought though - do Deer do anything similar for you that horses and other equines do? and if so, could you identify that? I'm just curious is all.
Though the preference for big smelly equines is a completely bizarre and incorrect decision, when clearly I am a far superior choice to any of them.

So I'd only be inclined to do this if the equine is his normal form, if he doesn't change forms during the scene, and doesn't talk about or use any godlike powers.
Where do you stand on halfbreeds though?
Or... another way to say it is, a thing is not always the sum of its parts. You could put together a bunch of the best pieces of other animals and wind up with something that's just ... kinda... lost. Like... Something that would have been better as any one of the original contributor species.
That's a fairly long-winded way to say "I'm not into halfbreeds", but I hope it offers some explanation as-to where I am coming from and not just like "NO".
