Nahhh It wasn't long at all. I am actually one of the deleted comments! I thought up a sentence and everything while grabbing my refs & then didn't add the sentence. This is inspiring me to do some research. Last I read, the fruit was named for a town in France popular for its oranges. So, it became the "Fruit of Orange" and slowly was bastardized into "orange."

Wow. The town named Orange has -nothing- to do with the fruit, and essentially the color name came from the fruit. The fruit name came from a -really- long time ago, through Sanskrit or Persian or Arabic origins!

So many people that can't follow the rules, just helps you to cut back on peoples that don't pay attention. I will have to admit that even I sometimes get excited and miss a rule or two from time to time. If I miss it and get disqualified then so be it.

The phrase biddle snickets actually came to mind half way through reading this journal, before even getting to the end. :P

I do admit to once or twice having posted on a journal without reading the whole thing through. I've never had it come back to bite me in the ass, but I have done it, both times in situations where I knew it was a first come first serve blitz for an artist I have been waiting for forever.

But short of that--and even then I try to skim in case there's anything out of the ordinary--I tend to read, reread, and rereread a journal before posting... it's a real shame to see that some people don't, and I fully support you being strict about the rules, but if it helps, at least keep in mind that sometimes, people will jump on a journal a bit too fast because they really, REALLY love your art, and don't want to miss out on the chance to have something drawn specifically by you. :3

I get ya. When I had my free wolyths only i think 2 people follow the rules. the third did not so i felt bad and asked them to try again and it took several times x.x I always try and read everything through. Sometimes I miss something, but not often. What makes me mad is when people do post rules and say to FOLLOW them but then just accept everyone that doesn't. Blargitty blarg. I also like when it's not a phrase but an answer like put your favorite this, or what do you think of that? It saves from people looking at other peoples comments instead of reading..which oddly enough isn't enough enough sometimes. Speaking of which though, did you ever do anything with your fallout boy idea?
