SOPA's back. Again.

And the following text (which has been copied and pasted from
Sargotha's own journal) should give you an idea about how it will affect you should it pass. It also provides a handy link to a petition to stop this stupidity again, WHICH I GREATLY URGE YOU TO SIGN.
The following comes from here:
Okay, so apparantly the government is a glutton for punishment it seems...as SOPA is yet again rearing its ugly head.
This time it is focusing on streaming but it's so vague that ANYTHING that is identified as being copyrighted can instantly get the uploader/streamer prison time...on FELONY charges! The internet was in uproar over SOPA being discovered and the damaging results it would have if it passed through, websites blacked out in protest to the bill passing. We can't count on websites to be there to back us up this time, we...the people, whether we stream or not...as those we watch will be affected if this thing goes through.
Sign any petition you see regarding this monstrous thing, doesn't matter if you signed one already...keep signing, because you never know which one is going to get through and make the required signatures to make our voices heard.
Write your representatives even if you get a generic response in return, we at least can overflood their digital mail sorters!
Spread the word, even if you don't think it will help...do it anyway, because then that at least gets your watchers aware to the threat to the beloved Internet we all have come to know and enjoy!
This is directly from the petition that is sent directly to the Obama Administration
Petition is here and I quote:
"In 2012 the Online Privacy Act was brought fourth to congress to be passed which would have negatively affected everyone on the internet as a whole. The people fought back and it never happened. Several times now since then it was revised under a different title with changes and tweaks to the wording to again try to get it to pass without the general public knowing about it. Each time it was found out, and then repealed.
Here we are in 2013 and again dealing with a portion of SOPA, this time the streaming of copywritten works is at the forefront of this particular law to be. If a particular stream contains any copywritten material of any sort the uploader and creator of said content can be found guilty and automatically placed in prison for years on felony charges."
