Opening for Inanimate-TF Story Commissions
12 years ago
Yes, I've decided to take a tentative dive, and go for it. A bit of extra money won't hurt me, and it'll be a nifty way to go about making sure my writing muscles stay...lubricated, so to speak.
Or juiced/exercised/worked-over, or a lot of other words that have just a bit of innuendo behind them.
Of course I have to give a thank you to anyone who posted advertising journals for me from my last announcement where I said I was considering this. I did get some traffic from those, and that's helped me make this decision. So to each of you, thank you very much.
I have never done something like this, I'll be frank about that fact. So to ensure there's a level of quality and ensure I'm not biting off more than I can chew there's going to be some rules. Every writer's got guidelines, and these will be the ones I'll operate under.
Inanimate Transformation Story Commission Guidelines
-This will be for stories about characters being turned into objects.
-This can be clean (safe for everyone), mature (include things like nudity, violence, or foul language), or adult (outright sexual or provocative content).
-I will be selecting the commission to write based on my interest level. Send your ideas to me via note. If the idea you've noted to me is something I just don't feel comfortable with I will note you back informing you of this. I'm not the type to leave people hanging. And I will be working on one piece at a time. Everyone is welcome to send in ideas, and I'll keep them saved regardless of what is going on, but I'll be giving one piece at a time my undivided attention.
-In that respect, if you note me an idea and it's the one I accept, I will make an announcement about it. I don't want people left hanging wondering just what's going on. If you want to be anonymous, just say so in your note, and no names will be mentioned. But I do want to inform everyone that something has been accepted, and I will make a progress update regularly on my page.
-For the time being these will be mostly single piece commissions. I might move on to series or chapters in the future, but for commissioned works I will be focusing on stand-alone works. That's not to say that series works are completely off the table, of course. But interest-factor will be a big part of whether or not I agree to it, along with time availability.
-I will not write anything involving: scat/watersports, cub/baby/young characters, outright gore (violence I'm fine with, but I'm not looking to write about bloody-murder or the like in inanimate-tf stories). Some other stuff might end up on that list, and I'll of course state reasons why if asked.
-I will of course write about a lot of the other themes that go along with different sorts of inanimate-tf, like melting, paralysis, bondage, merging, etc. Want something like food/candy TF? Vore's fine with me too. That extends to fatal/negation endings for the character. If you want to the character be brought to their final end with the end of the story, very well. I won't deny it fits with the theme. Wanna add in extras, like TG? Sure. I commission that plenty often myself, so I'm not going to be shy about others asking me to write it as well.
-The rate will be an initial $10, and go at $10 for 1000 words. Let me know what sort of range you're looking for in either price or length. I'm likely to be very flexible in that regard. I won't charge extra for content types. It's the time spent in-front of the keyboard writing that the charge is for. The $10 is due upfront via paypal, the address of which I will note to you. I will round the fee up or down as needed (ie, the commission ends up being 6551, you pay $70 after the $10 starting fee)
Tied in with this, I'm going to do something to give myself a kick in the bum and make sure I push at whichever project I take up, and it'll be something I've not seen from anyone else.
If I fail for whatever reason to make decent progress (like a week goes by and the story just doesn't move along) I will refund you not only your $10, but also a 10% bonus from the initial estimate. You want your story written, I want to write it (obviously, if I accepted it), and if something happens to prevent that then as far as I'm concerned you as the commissioner should receive some compensation beyond just a refund of the initial fee.
-Be detailed in your commission description. I am a very detail-oriented writer. Don't believe me? Read 'A Treasure Worth the While'. That might factor into the cost, so keep it in mind.
-I'm open to writing fan-characters, but if it's based on a series or such that I'm not familiar with I will need to take time to research it and portray things well (remember, detail-oriented). That won't stop me from accepting the idea, make no mistake about that. It'll just add time to the writing process (time, not length, so it's not something you'd have to pay for. Heck, you might hook me on something new).
That's all I can think to put for now, but if questions are asked in the comments I'll answer them as best I can and update this entry with the relevant information.

$10 is the upfront 'I'm going to take up your idea and get to work on it' fee. The $10 would be sent via paypal when I informed the member that I was starting work on their concept.
Following that, it's $10 per 1,000 words, rounded up or down. I really don't see myself doing just a flat 1,000 words, but if I did then the total would be $20. The $10 for the 1,000 word story would be sent after the story was completed.
A bit of a difference between what I'd be doing with this and just writing on my own is that it's bringing to life the idea of someone else, which will be the biggest challenge for me. But I'm happy to say that the ideas which have been noted to me so far seem to not only be well within my ability level, but they're also pretty damned imaginative and interesting. I'm still hoping for more, but I imagine I'll get more idea traffic after the commissioned pieces go up.
If you liked the overall story, or just my writing style, favs and comments are highly appreciated. Feedback is something I -need- from a commissioned piece.
