Update on Kitta's Health Situation - Its Not Good. X-x
12 years ago
It has been about a month since I made an official update on my IRL fiancee's
kitta1652's current health condition, living situation, and medical needs. Sadly, not much had changed for the better. In fact things have only become worse. Items are listed in order of highest to lowest priority. There is a TL:DR version at the bottom.

Update #1 Disability Case
Six weeks ago, his disability caseworker, informed him about a special program at the University of Louisville hospital. Someone may be able to see him for his depression and other mental health issues. This comes mostly IMHO stemming from hopelessness about his poor physical condition, joblessness, and lack of financial help and emotional support from most of his friends and family. This would be helpful to his ongoing disability case, since it will provide more documented evidence that he does need help. The downside is he estimates it would take $50 round trip (accounting for appointment fees, gas, and a simple meal) to drive there most likely during heavy city traffic. At least, it would be an all afternoon trip, especially since I will most likely end up driving him. I know his situation better than anyone over the last year.
New News: Kitta just found out yesterday that he has a hearing in September to determine the final outcome of his ongoing Disability case since November 2012. In short, he needs to go to U of L to see what help can be offered to him more than ever.
Update #2: Medication
He is out of his medicine again. He has been without health insurance since July 2013 due to turning too old to remain on his father's insurance coverage. Without his medication he is in constant foot pain and has difficulties to walk to the bathroom let alone anywhere else locally without a cane. Without health insurance, it will be $75 ($40 for a doctors visit, $10 for gas, and around $25 for a 6 month's supply of medicine).
Update #3 Bugs, Insects, and Spiders
Despite bug bombs, sprays, and duct taping windows, the bug problem in Kitta's dad's home has gotten worse. Cockroaches, beetles, hornets, bees, moths, and other larger flying critters buzz around his room keeping him awake at night. He is sleep deprived due to being unable to receive a restful night's sleep at his own home for months. More details about his current living conditions here: here here and here.
So, Kitta needs a new place to sleep. My solution is a tent - something inexpensive, sturdy, and large enough to move into (hopefully only temporarily) until he can find a new home. We are looking at around $30 (not counting shipping) for a tent.
Update #4 Student Loan Dept Overdue
Due to being unemployed since November 2012, he has built up a dept of 4 months of Student Loans. This is only paying off the interest on the loan which is $232 ($58/mo x 4 months).
