Tis stuff like this that makes me wonder if all the drama this has caused, will make someone there reconsider and open up to the option of "hire new staff" "Ask the community for help"
I mean look at AC. When they outgrew their hotels, they asked the fandom for help, and they got help, and AC is doing just fine.
They mighta had a 5 year contract but had they asked the fandom for support, it woulda been great. Get some new people in, etc. But instead, they took the easy way out and killed it.
The size of attendance wasn't the issue. The problem was the event had become too much of a strain on the personal lives of Nik and Gir, and they refused to put themselves through the stress anymore. When they both stepped down, a few other staff members did as well, myself included, and nobody volunteered to pick up the reigns. There was talk amongst the staff of training some new blood to keep it running, but it just didn't seem feasible.

Soooo........
Does that mean the GLFC is now Michigan's only planned furcon?
Thanks to everyone who made it such a great con. It was my *favorite*, and I've been to a lot.
