AAAH I GOT A JOB INTERVIEW WITH STARBUCKS THURSDAY!!!!

I am SO NERVOUS and SO EXCITED and aaaah even a little scared! D:
Like I'm SO PARANOID I will not know the answers to what the manager will ask! Or I'll say the wrong thing or....eek! Dx
Does anybody else work for starbucks? What questions do they ask? What should I prepare for? I'm going to dress and look as niiiiice as humanely possible! I must not risk anything!!!

I put in a job application awhile ago, but alas I had heard nothing.
So today, after a very rocky and....not very successful counseling session with my folks, we all went to starbucks to take the edge off.
I start talking about how,"MAN, they need to hire me! I'd love to work here!" Next thing I know Dad asked one of the workers,"Hey! What does it take to get a job here?"

SUDDENLY I'm meeting the manager, he pulls up my application, goes through it, asks me some questions...and I have an interview THURSDAY AT 10AM!!! I wasn't prepared at all! I looked so grungy D: And I had just cried super hard (though I'm sure my face had cleared up but STILL) and yet he was all smiles, super nice and even laughed a little. ;u;

The fact I'm just getting an interview is fantastic! I may not get the job, but even if I don't this is a GOOD EXPERIENCE.

I just, can't help my nerves hnngh.

But yeah, seriously! Does anybody work or have worked for them? What do I need to be prepared for? What should I study? D:

dont be nervous. be cool and calm. you want to show them that you can handle the stresses of a job

Don't be nervous, just at casual. Just answer all the questions about how the customers are most important, but so is working as a team with the co-workers! You won't have any problems :P

Yeah just be calm, I had my first interview last week, got the job a week later, the interview was like... Less then five minutes and I was out, called back the following friday was told to come in for orientation the following monday. Now I got a job at Carls Jr. SO HAPPY!!!

I'm sure you'll do great!!!
They'll probably just ask you some dumb questions about something you said in your resume or online test and that's that, its a minimum wage job meant for high schools so they shouldn't be asking you any god questions, so I'd not be worried :D I was SO NERVOUS to just find out my interview was under 5 minutes!!! GAH!!!

Best of luck make sure to call a few times after the interview to show extra interest in the job.

Once your on 20th+ job it gets a whole lot less nerve racking.. :P Jobs like that usually don't have many curveballs for you though. Just be attentive, pleasant, well-kempt, and ready for DUMB questions like "What makes you want to work at Starbucks?" and "Where do you see yourself in five years?" and "Tell me about a time you had to deal with a big problem/unhappy customer/mean co-worker, and how did you deal with it?" :P

I always check up on Glassdoor before interviews, since people usually post about what their interviews were like, etc. :3

Also, if you think you might not able to answer stuff, it's not wrong to take a piece of paper with you where you put some keywords on it. Mostly not for answers, but more like for questions you do have for them. Since you're at an interview you are also interested to know some things about them if they weren't answered yet. Good luck, Tartii. Don't worry, just take a deep breath in and everything feels better.

glassdoor.com has all sorts of interviews and reviews and everything about most bigger chain-y jobs. They probably have Starbucks too! Good luck! <333

ohh its not needed to be nervous but here something from me that ive learned from dozen (like 60 at all or so) interviews i had:
never talk bad about of any bosses you had be4 (theyre afraid that you do the same about your new one)
never ask about the money you may get (ecept he/she ask or talks about it for it)
dun give out any detailed informations about your old work (the most just test you out)

mostly i dun wanted the job wich the jobcenter sent me too so i did it on purpose XD

I know a few that work at Starbucks and they say it's pretty decent, hope you manage to snag a spot, even so, congrats on having the opportunity! =3

*worked there for three years* They're going to ask you to tell stories about how you've acted at work before.
The biggest goal is to get to just talk to the interviewer. If you can do that, you're pretty much set, as long as you don't like... Tell a story about a time when you ranted and raved at a customer at a previous job or something.

It's okay to feel scared and excited! :D good luck, to get over the nerves just go into the inerview pretending that the interviewer/boss is your ally--which if he's going to be your boss *should* be your ally anyway... :3

Wow! That's both great and eerie! Great that you might get a job tomorrow, and eerie because I also have an interview tomorrow at 10AM. But mine is for a local company, so I doubt you would have heard of it. Good luck! Just a few tips: stay calm, and be as honest as you can be (without telling the employer that you are a lazy lying layabout, if you are one). Employers are looking for honest, hardworking, team people who treat the customers very well. Try to get the manager to think you have all of these qualities, but don't lie if you don't have those qualities. Unfortunately, there are people who do, and it makes getting a job that much harder for us honest folks. Anyway, good luck tomorrow.

Just dress professionally (no jeans, nice shirt, etc). And just look the manager in the eye, be eager WITHOUT being overbearing at the same time (have an equal balance), answer all questions honestly and tell them how eager you are to work for them and that you will work hard. Tell them that you interact well with people (as a large part of the job is serving and people interaction) and you should be good. Good luck :)
