It's a surprise!

"Uncle Runt Uncle Runt!" Zee-Zee squeaked, grabbing Runt's tail and doing his best to pull him away from the little cubs he was looking after.
"Just a minute, champ," Runt grinned, finishing off cleaning up another paint-splattered toddler. "Okay," he smiled down at the impatient little squirrel still holding his tail, "have you finished your painting?"
"No!" Zee-Zee said with a shake of his head, leading Runt back to his little easel. "It needs writing on it, and you've gotta write something but not look at it, okay? It's a surprise and you're not allowed to see it till it's finished! Promise?"
"I promise," said Runt, patting Zee-Zee's head and closing his eyes. "What should I write?"
"You've got to write 'I love you, Uncle Runt' and then I'm gonna copy it because I'm clever and I can write things if a grown-up does it first so I get all the letters right!" Zee-Zee said. "And you've gotta not look, cause you're not allowed to know it's a surprise picture for you yet! Don't peek!"
"I'm not looking," Runt promised, writing the words clearly at the top of the painting.
"Are you sure?" Zee-Zee asked, suspiciously. "You've gotta not know that it says I love you Uncle Runt, or you won't be surprised when you see it!"
"I've got absolutely no idea what I'm writing, champ!" nodded Runt with a smile. "See, I'm writing with my eyes closed!"
"Good!" Zee-Zee chirped, happy that his clever plan had worked. "Now go and wait over there and I'm gonna show you a big surprise in a moment!"
