hi fuzzies!
i want to make an FAQ page, but i don't know what to put on it other than, like..."what program/tablet do you use?", sooooo ASK ME STUFFS! but ask me artsy things! things i can put on an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)! things about technique and all that jazz! that would be awesome!
i'll be making a list here with all the questions and answers linked, to be made into a separate journal for reference later ^_^
-Nix
What brushes do you use for lining and coloring?
how do you decide what colour to make the backdrop in your monotone sketches
how do you set up line smoothing/stability on your tablet?
what size canvas do you use? (rez?)
personally do you prefer drawing full colour pieces or lineless?
how long have you been drawing?
do you listen to music while you draw/what do you prefer your surroundings be like while arting? (lighting, colours, warm/cool, soft cushy bed loungingness or wooden straightasarod backed chair, etc)
What do you use for references? Real life animals or just other people's art?
Where do you get the most inspiration, or ideas, for your art and characters?
What is your layering style? Do you create seperate layers for absolutely everything or just basic layers for specific things?
Do you like/will do Feral art?
Whats your favorite color or shade? One you love to use in a drawing more than the others?
Whats your favorite layout for drawings? Full scenes, single full body, etc.
Do you try new styles frequently or just stick with one and build off of it?
Which do you like drawing more? Felines, canines, dragons, etc?

what does the khinta say?
what is the air velocity of an unladen swallow?
2) like, when i first got it? i don't actually remember, i think mine worked by itself and i didn't have to do much. i've heard of people having trouble with it, but i don't know i've ever had issues
3) i usually start with a 3500x3500 pixel canvas and sketch at ~75% zoom, then enlarge the sketch to fill the canvas and adjust the canvas to fit around it
4) I LOVE CHEESE!!!
5) that really depends. usually i actually like things that i don't have to shade because it can give me a lot of trouble XD but between those two, it's difficult. i like fullcolor because of the definition of the lines and how they can add to a picture while giving it structure, etc. i like lineless because of the freedom with edges and colors, and sometimes i just feel like painting. but when i start a lineless piece, i'm really getting myself into a big project, so i have to be up and ready for that.
6) as long as i can remember XD my dad put a crayon or a piece of chalk in my hand when i was a teeny little thing, and i never stopped. i've been encouraged to keep at it my whole life and it was always my default hobby/pastime/activity, but i didn't start taking it seriously until about halfway through highschool (about age 15/16), and then i got my first tablet and started taking commissions my freshman year of college
7) i don't usually listen to music, as i find it distracting. sometimes i'll be inspired by a certain song (as asked my a commissioner to base an image off a song), and then i'll listen to that song/artist/genre on repeat during the image(s). but usually i just like it pretty quiet with just some background noise, gotta be fairly comfortable as far as temperature and cushioning goes, and i personally like the room kind of dim with cool colors (my bedroom/workspace is black/teal/purple)
8) Khinta say "OHMIGOD THAT SONG WHHYYYYYY" and then flops over and dies.....
9) i don't....even....i feel like that can be measured too, and i feel like i know people who could do it....but i don't have the brain capacity XD

^,.,^; hope some of these help
2) i'm not sure i'm inspire by specific things anymore. on the off chance that something inspires me, it's usually pretty random and sudden. sometimes it's a mixture of colors that i just need to apply to something, sometimes it's a movie or some situation that happens in my life, sometimes it's nature, etc
3) i have pretty basic layers. i typically have a sketch layer, an inks layer, a color layer, and a background layer. sometimes if things get complicated i'll add more and then flatten them together in the previously mentioned labels
4) i LOVE drawing ferals! i'm sad that i don't get to draw them often
5) i love cool colors, especially blues and teals. i tend to overuse it in things and i always sketch in it before i make things the color they're supposed to be XD
6) i like pinups, most. sometimes i really want to draw a full scene, but generally i like single-character pinup type pictures. i like artistic nudes, but i also love designing clothes, and fitting characters together in an image can be tricky, so pinups are definitely my favorite
7) actually i find it really hard to draw in other styles. once in a while i'll give it a shot because i'd really love to be able to, but normally i draw in my own style and just try to evolve it into bigger and better things
8) hmm. that's tough because i love drawing so many things. growing up i had a dragon phase and a horse phase and a canine phase, and i still love drawing all those things, but currently i like felines. it's not that i like them more than others, i just think they come easiest to me so i default to them
or... well i forgot the second one so radom: Y U ARTIST RAG ON UR SELVS SO MACH D:<
CUZ WE ARE PROGRAMED THAT WAY!! everything must be perfect all the time! and it's never perfect! so we must hate the imperfections!
1) How do you do achieve your 'glow' effects? Is it from tint with low density or another one?
2) Is their a specific way to achieve a more 'fur' appearance with how you use your brush strokes or is it more on the actual graphic effects?
3) Do you ever do your line-work with pencil or is it all digital?
4) With #3 in mind if it's all digital is each character a separate layer or both the same?
I think that's it..
