Outlook works well for mass e-mails

I have an constantly changing roster of who is joining, having something that updates and auto-fills when I wanna send an email out, would be awesome.

Well like I said outlook is great for that.

Other than that I can't really.help don't know much about making a website

They will be copywritten by the artists themselves and such. What the issue is people just right-clicking, copy, pasting to various things. What Fetlife.com does is makes the image a link (Technically is a Box link OVER the image) so that when you Right Click it's selecting the link to the next image inline, instead of the image itself.

This doesn't stop prnt scrn but it stops people from doing it fast and effectively.

I agree with all of that.

We are not disabling R-Click. We are making it to where when R-clicking and image it simply gives the option to view what the link it. We make each image in rotation a link to the next image. It's done like this on Fetlife.com and it works pretty well, it's not full proof, no. But ti disuades as much as we can.

So, someone poked me with that via skype and was like, "my friend needs help!". Maybe they showed you my site http://dragonsinn.tk yet? weeell, I wouldnt know.

Whatever. I just read over your description. So, you are planning an artist platform and offering a comission/trade place? I had the same idea, and there are many things to consider.

1st: How do you make it fair.
I ask that, because, when you have someone search for an artist with comissions, how do you make sure all artists are treatened the same way?

2nd: Do you want to just offer it as a free service? If yes, it wont pay out for you in a way. But if you do, how do you arrange it.
The thing is, people could possibly backdoor payment stuff via private messages and alike - so think very good about how the model should be.

3rd: What'd you plan for managing this? Running a site like this, which needs a lot of attention, is no child's play at all. Even the dragonsinn is a troubble on itself. In example, my server periodicaly kept dying away here and there. It also is so process intense, that I cant run it without having about 80% of my CPU being actively used. As you can tell, you also have to consider your resources.

4th: Resources...ya... well, what resources do you have? Servers are an important resource - and money tops that by far. No money, no servers.

5th: If you let others work for it, like if i'd join that project, what'd i get in return? One can work for free on smaller stuff - but your idea goes beyond the average profile pages (i.e. http://ingwie.me ). In fact, that's a job i normally start at 400USD at least. You need a database, a lot of backend logic for security, users, managing the art, artists and yadda yadda.


Now, if you remembered what I said before, I have actually had the same idea. And the outcome?

Yes, I am developing something. its bigger than your idea though, but it implements parts of that idea. For that to work however, I had to found a company too (Ingwie I/O). Once it launches, I have to switch servers, which will push my monthly payment from 25€ to at least 40€. You see, nothing easy here...

So please respond to the things i named above, as I want to know more about your idea - especially... "fa clone"? I'd like to learn more here.

1: I actually made a system for this.

2: I'ma bit confused by what you mean. I will not be taking money from anyone. At most I might make a PP account for payments only that people will send to and then automate ti somehow to send out payments accordingly, not entirely sure. Prolly wont' do that though.

3: I have a server and Domain already set up for this, off site. Check out Couplestriplesnchange.net to see that we have nothing but the site is there. :)

5. I don't know HOW big thsi will get, currently the group si small but that si because it's hard to get Journals out that can be seen among the 100+ people come home to. My group is small because people can't find it. Simple as that. It is also not a General Group. It's a group for Artist and Commissioners alike and will be here as a way to get commissioners cheap prices and new and old artists seen.
