I'm still sort of in shock, but something really horrible happened today.

My wife's being laid off...

It's something we're both having a hard time dealing with. Just... getting to the reality of it. I don't know what to say. Such a thing has never happened to either one of us before. But, here's a breakdown of the facts I want to communicate.

We CANNOT pay our rent, much less our other bills, on my income alone.
We'll be looking into unemployment assistance, food-whatever they call it now. I know it's no longer stamps. etc.
All the same, that takes time, and it's not going to be like the income we HAD. An income we were making it by on, but not really flourishing by any means.
I can't take on a bunch of big orders because I'm already so PACKED on orders.

So, two things come to mind (well, TONS of things are on my mind but for relevance...)-

Donations of any amount are GREATLY appreciated.

Really, and perhaps if she manages to find work before too long, I'd have the room to draw up something nice as a general thank you if I can get some help on this.

Secondly,
I have to keep working on art that is owed to my customers, BUT-

You can expect to see sketch commission streams from me in the coming days and weeks.
Maybe even as soon as tomorrow night? That may be overly optimistic. Definitely try to do these on my days off next week. (I'm not sure when those are yet. Our schedule goes up Saturday)

Also if anyone's wondering, no we cannot move to reduce our rent. We're on a lease and even if we leave, we're still required to pay it until next May. I'm going to call the renting office and see if they'll make any considerations for a temporary reduction/payment plan.


Oh, and- My wife's company that laid her off? After she JUST worked there for FIVE years? Their CEO got a ONE MILLION dollar BONUS. TWENTY times her fucking salary, this man goes home with PLUS his salary, despite it being a "bad year"! Let me meet the bastard and I'll show him what a "bad year" really is.

If you'd like to help but are unable to make any financial contribution, which is completely understandable- Please consider spreading the word? I hate to ask for help in any fashion, but I know when times are desperate enough to warrant it. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
