FurFright. It Happened. It Was Short. And It Was Epic.

So here I am, writing a full con report (as I sometimes can't seem to stop myself from doing) about FurFright 2013, when I realize a few things.
1) The con was soooo freaking short (basically just Saturday and Sunday for me) so there wasn't much to say.
2) The con was defined by ONE MOMENT that will forever remain the most special con moment for as long as I go to cons.
3) Referencing the above 2 points, there's no need to regale you with insignificant details of a day by day walkthrough of what I did. Instead, I will give you a report that is more fitting to what the FurFright 2013 experience was like for me...
Here's how it went down, in Tiggie-Brain-Mode.
Thursday... gotta finish secret video for closing ceremonies... video take long... oh so long... render render render... impatient kitty... shit we're gonna be sooo late and i have to sleep and it's friday FUUCK... OK IM DONE! .... 1 hour nap... TIME FOR DRIVE... drive drive need to nap sooo tired... ZZZZZ... DRIVE MORE... 7 hours drive... drive drive drive... HI
HI 
... drive drive drive... gotta eat... traffic... gonna be late for Kat's panels... fuck we missed them... fuck im in trouble. :( angry kitty... "I hope it's worth it."... >,>.... um ok we're here time for sleep... OH HI

Saturday... awake... sign up for masquerade... wait i need a conbadge... fuck masquerade is full now... OH WELL... dealers den... plushies... badges... art... YAY I SPENT MONEY... fursuit parade time! ... parade walk wave pictures yay... suit suit suit... room time... oh look chicken wings! NOM NOM.... wait it's 9pm already? ... drink drink drink suit go to party... PARTY IS NONE... downstairs OH HELLO RADIO PODCAST... BEEEELCH... go to zoo... HI

Sunday... TODAY IS THE DAY... dealers den get a couple more things... money gone... go upstairs... fursuit now TIME FOR FURSUIT GAMES... weeeeeeeeee yay musical chairs! ... damn i lost... HAHA I'M BACK... damn i lost again... BUT THE TEAM WON! ^__^ ... dinner time with friends! ... mmm chowdah and squids... time to get ready for closing ceremonies... shower shave preen got everything ready oh hi there's Kat HI KAT... wait wtf you mean robbed?! O,o fuck why now... oh wait just a misplaced receipt ok all is good i love you hunny time to go downstairs... audio check video check stage placement man hope this goes well... oh look Kat is here HI HUNNY i saved you a seat in the front row. ^^
Now it's presentation time... i have a mic... talk talk talk... make the crowd meow cuz dammit i can... video plays... its a sappy romantic tribute video to Kat and me... I TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE WORTH IT BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT YOU ALL ALONG ^^... sing sing cry sing cry cry... crowd goes awww... Kat is like :D ... video is almost over... Kat is like :D ... I drop down to one knee... Kat is like :D then slowly goes to :o then 8O ....

and the gang.... cloud 9 all night... after dinner exhausted... sleep... wake up chat with cajun... then more sleep... wake up it's monday HOLY SHIT IM ENGAGED... pack... Ted's Cheeseburgers with friends... leave way too late... drop off blue and teddy... sleep a bit... dunkin' donuts in MD... detour in DC aka ill-advised sightseeing with a sleeping kitty in car who wakes up pissed and panicked and my phone is dead but its ok i gave her a fruit cup and WE'RE FUCKING ENGAGED.... drive drive drive traffic drive drive drive ARE WE THERE YET drive drive energy drink drive HOME SLEEP NOW zzzzzz....
So that was my FurFright, a very special con indeed. ^^
For it is there that I met my sweet kitty face to face for the first time 6 years ago, and it is there that the promise to wed was officially made. I couldn't have had a more perfect place for the proposal to the most perfect kitty I've ever known. ^^
Sorry the video took so long to make and that it made you miss your panels... and sorry I was a derp and hung out in politicianland while you were locked in the car (for some reason) and not sleeping blissfully. And sorry for all the driving and that it took as long as the whole con did.
But it's ok, WE'RE FUCKING ENGAGED!!! ^____^
And finally, for you saps out there, here's the proposal video (complete with me bawling like a baby throughout and Kat being oblivious to the whole thing until it was almost over... at least she was surprised. ^^)

Yah i'd like to meet yah next year! hopeully I'll work up the courage to talk to folks without my friend forcing me to haha.
Although I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing as you if some big guy came up and started talking about paddling me. I guess furries ruin even things that are already mostly ruined on their own. XD
It's understandable being shy in a place with so many people. I am the same way, but 1) I have a suit now, which makes it easier, and 2) you quickly learn that all us furs are one big (fucked up) family and most all of them are super friendly and fun! Makes talking to new people fun because you don't have to worry so much about being judged. We're all into the same thing basically. ^^
hehe well I wouldn't mind it so much! Just it was the first time I was around any furries, and openly gay folks, and large amounts of people in general xD So it was alot to take in at once! Not exactly baby steps lol
Yah I think I would be a little more comfy in a fursuit, then I wouldn't have to worry about eye contact as much and making odd faces while trying to hold back the giggles lol. Yah I noticed folks were very friendly there, I got hugged by some fursuiters. I can easily say now the 2 greatest pleasures in life are 1) beating your first titled master chess player. and 2) getting fursuit hugs xD I think i'll be more relaxed next time, now that I know what im expecting. most of my nerves came from lying to my father about where I was and making up stories of where I was and all that sort of stuff
Might I also add, you've got quite the melodic singing voice.
I am, however, glad I decided not to play the song on guitar (would have messed up) and also that I didn't do the show in suit (can't see facial expressions). I got through the song best I could, but it's hard to sing when you're constantly trying not to choke up. XD
Congratulations again to both of you cuties!!

As for Jt taking a while to put a ring on it ^^ Well, Jt is an analytical creature, and I've come to very much love and appreciate it. He is also a perfectionist. And as such, wanted this to be everything I have ever dreamed of. And it was. The last thing he'd ever do, is something Half Assed. This goes for every aspect of his life. [which is why more often than not, his art takes FOREVER to do. However what you get, is the very best he can provide for you.]
I know his....tardiness, and his lack of time management can be....difficult at best, but in the end, everything one way or another works out, and I am the luckiest woman alive. I not only have the most wonderful friends, but a family that has welcomed me with open arms, and Jt, everything i've ever dreamed of in a mate, wrapped up in a ball of tiggie. ^_^
These last 6 years have been an adventure, and the best 6 years of my life. And I look forward to when I get to call myself his wife. :)
