Here's the update concerning my sidescrolling game. For those who don't know, this game is meant to include art people are willing to put into it, be it characters, backgrounds, anything that tickles your fancy. I'm also completely opened to rating (G material to X material). A still bareboned version of this game can be found at : http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12035175/.
I'm currently naming it "Horndawgs", but if someone has a better title I'm all ears. The title should be generic enough to represent the fact that all the visuals can change (different main characters, different level tiles etc).
For the people who want to produce art, here are the parameters. These include the size I require, but thematically, you are free of doing whatever you'd like, so long as it abides by FA guidelines and is completely original work (no repurposing sprites from commercial games or sources). If you're interested in providing artwork, drop me a note and we'll figure it out.
* Playable character *
The playable character has a box size of 70x95px. Note that the character could be slightly larger (a few pixels bigger), but that he collides with elements from the top at a distance of 95px from the bottom, and 35px from the middle of him. To create a character, I need to receive the following images in PNG form with transparent background (a minimum of 11 images) :
Idle - Used when the character isn't moving.
Walk - Used when moving slowly.
Crouch - This should be a 70x50px sized image, for when crouching.
Jump - Image used when jumping
Attack - Used to attack in front. The attack will hit 30px in front of the player. This attack can hit enemies and maybe break blocks. When punching, the player also fires a projectile.
Projectile - What the attack shoots. Could be as simple as a copy of the attack (like Link's sword).
Hurt - When hurt, the player will bounce back slightly.
Death - Player will fall to the bottom of the screen like Sonic and Mario.
Win - When the player crosses the finish line.
Optional:
I'm waiting - Used after a delay, like Sonic looking at the player, otherwise ignored.
Run - A run cycle when moving fast, otherwise I'll use the Walk frames faster.
Fall - Used when falling, like after the top of your jump or from a ledge. Otherwise, I'll use the Jump.
Pre-Attack - Used just before attacking, will be ignored otherwise.
Other cool stuff - If you have a cool idea to make your character stand out, let me know and we can figure out a way to make it work.
* Enemies *
Crawler: This is the typical goomba/koopa troopa enemy. It walks in a lines, turns against a wall and falls off cliffs. Size for the enemy is 40x50px and has the following states:
Walk - The enemy walking to the right
Fall - When the walker is falling from a cliff
Stomp Death - When the walker is jumped on. The player will bounce off.
Punch Death - When the walker is punched, he will recoil back and off screen (either falling or through the air, TBD)
Jumper: A crawler with a jumping pattern, like a winged koopa troppa. Like the crawler, the size is 40x50px and has the following states:
Jump - The enemy is raising from his jump
Fall - When the walker is falling from his jump
Stomp Death - When the walker is jumped on. The player will bounce off.
Punch Death - When the walker is punched, he will recoil back and off screen (either falling or through the air, TBD)
Flier: This one moves either in a straight line like a bullet bill, or in a wave like a Medusa Head from Castlevania. This one should be, 50x40, with the following states
Flying: Flying in a straight line
Stomp Death - When the walker is jumped on. The player will bounce off.
Punch Death - When the walker is punched, he will recoil back and off screen (either falling or through the air, TBD)
* Ground tiles *
Ground tiles will be at least 64x64px. I created mine to have grass on the areas which are blocked (ground, walls), and brown rock as details. For this, I need a version for the middle (where the player doesn't walk, versions for all 8 sides and corners, versions with 2 sides (Left/Right, Up/Down), 3 Sides (Left/Up/Right, etc) and 4 sides. And finally, a tile for the ending zone.
* Collectables *
These are the coins of the game and will be found floating around. "Coin" should not be taken litterally, it could be rings, fruit, butts, anything desired. The box size is 45x45.
* Idle - Just the coin standing there. It could also have a small movement or animation.
*UI*
Unlike the rest, the UI will not be editable. I just need someone to do the buttons, the backgrounds, the popups and so forth. Something to replace my ugly plain rectangles.

I also might try this since it's not something I've ever attempted before! Is there a limit to number of colours or anything?
