DIABETES AWARENESS FUNDRAISER AND RAFFLE [Closed]

Diabetes is a very serious illness and it has effected over 370 million people world wide.
Over 3 million people die from diabetes each year.
Hello and welcome everyone to the Diabetes Awareness Fundraiser!
We have a lot in store for everyone and more to come as the month rolls along.
I've posted a previous journal about this and I was a little surprised at how
many people were willing to help out to the cause and I'm very honored they're
wanting to participate. I'm really excited about this - and even if our goal isn't
reached, I'm still excited to see how this turns out.
What we have going on - we have some amazing artists who are willing to
donate what they make from their sales to the fundraiser. We are also
holding a raffle for those who want to help out, but aren't able to donate.
And if they want to donate a dollar or two, it's welcome as well.
At the end of the month, wither the goal is reached or not, I will host a
join.me or try to get LiveStream to work on my computer and everyone
can see their donations being sent in AND I will announce the winner
(or winners) of the raffle. I will use the random number generator.

Our goal is to raise at the most $1,000. The goal might change, it depends on how well this turns out.

your help is well appreciated. And with that being said, we're also hosting a raffle.

I'm a little surprised myself, but it's still early in the month. n.n' I'm working on an advertisement so it'll be announced on the front page. Might get more people to join that way, eh? That and I'm not sure, like... I think people get thrown off that I put in the: "if you'd like extra slots, one slot is $1" kind of thing. o.o' I've had some people message me and tell me, "I wish I could join, but I don't have any money." And I explain it to them and they post. x-x Or some might see it and think that and don't ask, they just close out of the tab. I dunno, I could be wrong... But still. I'm very thankful for all the help I've gotten thus far, I'm honored that the people who have bought art and have advertised and just... Everything so far is just amazing to me. And honestly, this fundraiser means a lot more to me than what people think... I've had family die from diabetes, I have some other family members who have it, friends - it's all over and it's heart breaking. I wish there was more awareness and I hope that one day, they can find a cure for it or to help people balance their sugars and insulin or what ever. And I know it's not just diabetes, there's other stuff out there, and I wanna help as much as I can... To my family and friends who have it, to everyone else who has it - I wanna do my part in helping them. Even if it's just a little bit, I'm happy and proud to at least help as much as I can. n.n
And I'm going to try to get some money to donate because I hold this close to my heart with most of the people
on my others side of the family with diabetes and its just horrible to see them struggle with it not to mention that other baggage that comes along with it. Like to be honest I don't hear much about diabetes awareness and fundraisers. More concentrated on cancer and such. Diabetes is just as a big of a problem and people loose family members to it as well. Some people don't even know they have it! Which is a really scary thought.

My father got diabetes from being in the Vietnam war from a chemical sprayed to kill the jungle
and I have had 3 friends that were born with it.
So hearing people donating makes me extremely happy.

Honestly? Seeing this was so great :) Sadly no one where I live seems to know its diabetes month or about the
14th.
It gets over shadowed by Remembrance and Movember :/ Not that they aren't great causes it just feels like the few diabetics here have no real support.
As a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic it's easy to feel alone, I'm the only diabetic in my school.
