Hey everyone. Putting together another guide for my universe that is LONG overdue! A full guide to what the Azuri's are and details about them!
The Azuri's are a female only faction of super soldier like people from the far reaches of my universe. They grow to the largest sizes of all sentient, humanoid creatures in the universe and can have the strongest muscle density and toughness of all creatures, so much so, that Azuri's can go toe to toe with the biggest and most powerful powered armours and mechs the other factions can bring, un-armoured, and win.
The main traits of the Azuri's are:
They are strictly female in body shape
They have very large breasts on average in comparison to normal females
Their breast tissue is made of a muscle fibre woven complex, allowing it to shrink down and harden. Thus allowing their chests to become additional protection for their organs
They have a web like structure within their chest cavities that holds their internal organs in place
They have phenomenal weight to power ratio in their muscles that outperforms even the best cybernetic enhancements and this ratio increases with time and training
They are ageless (biological immortality)
They have permanent regeneration, allowing them to recover from any wound providing they survive
They possess immunity to a lot of poisons, toxins and other weapons and can develop immunity to new bio or chem weapons within seconds of being introduced to it
Radiation sickness and damage does not effect them due to regenerative capabilities
They do not have a womb or ovaries, thus they cannot reproduce naturally
There are no baby or child Azuri's
They do not excrete waste
Azuri's do not reproduce at all. Their bodies do not accommodate the facilities required to make a child. Although they do still have a vagina and an anus but these are strictly re purposed for pleasure. Instead, Azuri's have birthing facilities. Its here, that the high commanders decide to produce a new batch of Azuri's, who are tank grown until ready to be released. Azuri's released prematurely from their growth tanks can survive if they are old enough. Fully premature Azuri's will simply die if released from their tanks and will dissolve back into a thick goopy mess.
The batches themselves are decided by the high commanders entirely. Each Azuri will have a body size defined and a species, but other elements (such as hair colour, eye colour ect.) is randomly assigned and completely dependant on the Azuri herself. The high commanders will simply decide what they want from each batch and let the ancient command cores do the rest. Traits such as vampirism are assigned randomly by the command cores.
There are 5 main Azuri body types, all with varying sizes and shapes, whilst they can usually be mixed and matched to a certain extent and changed by certain modifiers as well as the lifestyle of the Azuri in question, most Azuri’s of the same body type will be similarly sized.
Mini – Mini Azuri’s are usually no bigger than 7ft and most are about 6ft, there are no strict definitions to their shapes and theres a lot of variance because of that. Kaj’s wide hips and normal breasts for example. Mini Azuri’s aren’t used in front line combat due to their small sizes, they simple don’t have the weight to withstand explosive shock waves and impacts and get thrown around by them as a result. They do make excellent engineers, pilots and squads for stealth missions based within enemy buildings as larger Azuri’s simple wouldn’t fit. Mini Azuri’s are fairly uncommon.
Light – Light Azuri’s are above 7ft and most average around 8ft, they have lean bodies and smaller profiles usually making them faster and more agile, they can make excellent spies and infiltrators due to the fact their breasts don’t usually reach the tremendous sizes that other Azuri body types do, although their naturally large Azuri size does make them stand out. Light Azuri’s are very rare due to the fact that Azuri’s don’t require many spies and theres not much stuff that lights can do that mediums can’t, whilst there is a fairly large amount of tasks that mediums can do, but lights can’t.
Medium – Mediums make up the bulk of the Azuri’s, examples of them are Jinx, Dessa and Ion. They are shapely figures and average to large breasts in accompaniment to them. Mediums are excellent all rounders, being strong, fast and light enough to be agile but still having enough toughness and staying power to be a powerful threat to those who oppose them, Mediums have a lo of variation in their body sizes though as there are a lot of modifiers for them and they respond well to them. It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish the differences between the size above and below mediums if they have a lot of modifiers on them. They usually stand at 8ft but can average at around 9-10ft
Medium Heavy – Medium Heavies are fairly new addition to the Azuri forces and have had a very powerful impact on the front lines, combining traits from the Mediums and the Heavies, they have curvy thick bodies with large to massive breasts and very wide hips, most stand at around 10-11ft but they can reach growth spikes, the Kai-Tigers being good examples of this, and sizes of 13-14ft easily. Medium heavies make devastating shock marines as they have so much body mass that they become nearly unstoppable, but because of their smaller size than heavies, they can get into narrower spaces and less stable ground without destroying everything around them. Due to their large sizes though, they are always identifiable as Azuri’s and struggle to move non destructively in areas not designed for them. Examples of Medium heavies include Muse, Toulyan, Daisha and Kali.
Heavies – Heavies are the biggest of all Azuri’s and have the largest size variations between them, with younger heavies started at around 8-10ft but can reach sizes of up to 28ft tall. They feature the largest breasts and hips (Although in terms of scale, they are mostly equal to medium heavies) and are the most unstoppable of all Azuri’s. Heavies are used in conjunction with Medium Heavies to form a front line force should it be required, with mediums as flankers and mini’s as support. Due to their massive sizes, its extremely rare for a heavy to be within a non-Azuri city and it not to be destroying it on purpose. Heavies are uncommon to about the same extent as Mini’s, but are far easier to spot for obvious reasons. Kyrinth is a good example of a heavy.
AZURI HIERARCHY/SOCIETY
The Azuri's are an extremely militaristic society, with every Azuri being expected to train, fight and battle in their own ways. Every Azuri has a rank and will ascend the ranks by going on missions, completing assignments, training and completing acts of strength/intellect/valor. The Azuri's rank will effect what cities and areas she can live in, what weapons and training are available to her and what rewards she can gain. Azuri's can choose where they live based on their rank, with higher ranked Azuri's having a massive range of impressive housing available to them, but all Azuri housing is to a good standard.
Food and clothing is free as the Azuri's have that taken care of by the Chosen, who can seemingly supple endless amounts of food to them. Larger Azuri's can consume extreme amounts of normal food in order to have enough energy to function. Thus, the Azuri's produce their own 'super food'. This food is packed to the absolute brim with energy, vitamins and whatever else is required, so much so, that Azuri 'super food' is extremely toxic to non-azuri's. The vitamin syrup that heavy Azuri's tend to rely on when training is so potent, it will dissolve the flesh of a non-azuri should they come into contact with it. To sum up, Super food is used for training, recovery and gain. Normal food is used for enjoyment. Normally, super foods will be consumed every few weeks to keep the Azuri's energy storage up. Azuri's who find themselves critically wounded in battle and on recovery will often them constantly as their body uses up massive amounts of energy and minerals to regenerate the lost body mass.
Each Azuri will have a superior assigned to them who will make them part of a squad and give that squad assignments and missions to do. Azuri's can swap and change superiors (Known as battle maidens) and will do so quite often in their early years, as they choose a specialisation to go into. Battle maidens will track their Azuri's progress, help them, look after them, give them things to do and generally make their younger Azuri's into the fierce warriors they are destine to become. The battle maiden is the closest thing young Azuri's have to a mother.
BODY FEATURES
The Azuri's breasts are the most noticeable feature of them. Often massive in comparison to ordinary women's busts, its how they are known to a lot of people. Yet the Azuri's bust has many functions, few of them shared with the ordinary woman's bust. Made from muscle fibre woven tissue, the Azuri's bust contributes directly to her core strength. In addition, they serve as energy stores, blood stores and protection. They do not contain milk glands and do not produce any form of milk (With the exception of the Kerran dragoness, who produces a delicious juice from her bust during orgasm). Azuri breasts can be contracted and shrunk at the desire of the Azuri down to 30% of their original size, when they do this, they become extremely hard and tough, becoming effectively body armour. When at full size though, they are soft and bouncey, like ordinary breasts, with the exception that they tend to be a lot more perky due to their internal structure, they also tend to be very warm all the time.
The complete lack of womb and ovaries makes room for additional digestive organs and the internal webbing. The vagina and anus still exist however and are totally encased in pleasure receptors. Azuri's do not have G-spots and do not require lovers with large man-hoods due to how tight and strong their muscles are. Azuri's have been known to crush things within themselves, either as an act of intimidation to non-azuri's or just for fun... Azuri's prefer lovers who fit into them perfectly, rather than over-sized ones who simply will not be able to penetrate them or those who are too small and can't fit in. Azuri's produce strap-on's for personal use and 95% of Azuri's have their own strap-ons with artificial nerves grafted in, to simulate and enhance pleasure. Sex is very important in Azuri society as a bonding exercise, developing exercise and a form of physical relief.
Azuri's produce a variety of different pheromones from their body that mimic their moods. The pheromones themselves can and will have profound effects on other Azuri's. For example, when sexually excited, Azuri's release pheromones that not only broadcast that, but induce it in others too. Anger causes strong pheromones that induce anger in other Azuri's and increase the chances of the Azuri's tremendously powerful 'storm glands' to release. Confusion releases a pheromone that actually clears the mind and senses of other Azuri's to help them think more clearly and sleepiness releases one that tends to induce sleepiness in others. The effect of this means that Azuri's who tend to travel in groups together tend to all do the same thing together. This helps keep squads functioning together and as a family-like unit. One Azuri will become hungry and slowly, they'll become hungry, so they eat together. One will become sleep and they'll become sleepy ect.
The 'Storm gland' mentioned earlier is a tremendously powerful gland that functions similarly to the adrenaline gland that humans have. However, the Storm gland is slightly different in its use and can be honed to function in different ways. The gland functions by flooding the Azuri's body full of different pheromones and chemicals, a serum of chemicals one one goal in mind, to turn the Azuri into a killing machine. The storm glands effect on an Azuri is so powerful and potent that its effect can single handedly turn an Azuri who is inches from death into a nightmarish war machine. Azuri's under the effect of the storm gland perform far beyond their already absurd physical capabilities and pull off extreme acts of strength and vigor. Mini Azuri's have been witnessed to rip the tops off tanks and mulch the crew inside with their bare hands, others have been known to break the sound barrier on foot as they charge at opponants, blind with rage and fury... and psyonically gifted Azuri's under its effects have ripped chunks of the planets surface out equalling the size of small countries and dropped it on their opponents, or even more terrifying, have hurling it into space to destroy orbiting enemy cruisers. Some Azuri practises rely on the effect on the storm gland for success, such as the sledgers, who induce themselves into a fearsome rage and tear their way through the battlefields core. The storm gland differs to the humans adrenaline gland in the way that doesn't activate consistently. Infact, some Azuri's storm glands have never activated. Others, with training, can activate it themselves at will. Some Azuri's have never and will never need their storm gland, but others gave only survived because of it. Azuri's under its potent effects can survive even the most horrendous of wounds and injuries and accomplish the impossible, even for them. Due to the fact that angry azuri's release a pheromone that increases the chances of a storm gland activating, and when it activates, an even more potent pheromone releases, its very possible for Azuri's in combat to chain release their storm glands together, which is certainly a extremely bad thing for their enemies...
YOUNG AZURI'S
From 'birth' until they reach the rank of "Ascendant", Azuri's are considered young. Young Azuri's have softer skin and muscle than their older counterparts, are weaker, smaller, less experienced and more vulnerable to just about everything. The highest amount of Azuri deaths happen in this life stage, and from every batch of 100 Azuri's, its expected that at least 10-20 will die here, with the Battle Sisters being the leading cause of death. Generally, young Azuri's are thrown into difficult battles for their age to test their will and capabilities.
As the Azuri's fight in combat, their bodies develop. When shot, they slowly become tougher, then they lift and punch, they slowly become stronger. Then they lose parts of their body, they become tougher and more resistant to the effects of severe blood loss and mass loss. Every fight and battle leads to a stronger Azuri. So by pushing young Azuri's in dangerous situations, they develop quickly and it soon shows what Azuri's have the will to fight and survive and those who don't. fortunately, most Azuri's are in the former category.
In this stage, Azuri bodies are still damageable by most weapons. However, the Azuri's phenomenal toughness still applies, as they shrug off many injuries and can survive the most grievous of wounds. Young Azuri's have crawled their way back to their squad mates after having both legs blown off and most of their internal organs pulverised by Vulcan sniper cannons. Even massive brain trauma and damage isn't enough to stop an Azuri from functioning entirely and headshots on Azuri's have been seen as entirely pointless after blinding them. The DA's favourite tactic for dealing with young Azuri's is simply to shoot their eyes out, blast their legs or arms off with Sniper cannons and simply leave them. Actually killing the Azuri's is so difficult that it isn't worth the expenditure and effort. Young Azuri's have survived being in the direct certain of fireblast air bombs, plasma arken cannons, vulcan assault fury's and vulcan barge cannons. Blood loss of up to 95% still won't finish them off and internal organ loss of 100% might not kill her if medical help arrives in time. Particularly tough young Azuri's have been known to pull off insane acts of valor, earning them many ranks worth for their actions.
The act of valor itself was named after a young Azuri called "Valor" funnily enough. After getting into a fight with a squad of battle sisters, armed with zenith blades (One of the few weapons capable of cutting straight through Azuri bone with little effort), Valor found herself in a dire situation. Although the events of the fight aren't very well recalled, what is known is a battle sister stabbed Valor through the chest, carved her ribcage up and ripped Valor's heart out through the webbing that held it in place. Valor's response was to snap out one of her remaining ribs in an act of strength and stab the battle sister repeatedly in the face and neck, grabbing back her own heart from her attacks hand and replacing it back in her chest. Although despite the effort she put in, her heart didn't just start working again... With what little strength she had had left in her body, she fought and killed the remaining 3 sisters before collapsing in the middle of them all and surviving the ordeal after her squadmates found her. In an even more bizzare twist of events, the battle sister she killed turned out to be one of the leading battle sisters, in charge of many operations in the area. Thus, Valor killed 4 extremely high ranking and wanted battle sisters with her own rib after having her own heart torn out! Although many young Azuri's don't find themselves in quite the same situation, many go through similarly gruesome events to earn their stripes and develop their bodies.
MID RANK AZURI'S
Mid rank Azuri's are Azuri's above the "Ascendant" rank but below the "War-Mauler" rank. Mid rank Azuri's can be battle maidens for young azuri's but will still have their own battle maidens of a higher rank. By this stage, the Azuri's (unless of mini size) will have grown and developed a long way, their battle worn hides will be far tougher than they used to be, capable of shrugging off small arms fire with minimal, if any damage. Their muscles have developed to a stage where they now outperform anything in the universe and are true forces to be reckoned with. In addition, mid rank Azuri's have a massive range of different classes to specialize in and theres lot of weapon diversity in comparison to younger, lower ranked Azuri's.
Mid rank Azuri's face one to one and three on three arena challenges as part of their rank progression. Lower ranked Azuri's will causally fight one another in arena's for exercise but mid rank Azuri's fight for rewards and honour. Mid rank Azuri fights can only be won when one azuri either breaks the others neck, or 5 major bones in the others body, whichever comes first.
Most of the Azuri population is contained within the mid ranks and it is the most diverse area within the Azuri's because of it. Generally, whilst a low ranked Azuri's greatest challenge will be outside enemies and the battle sisters, a mid ranked Azuri's greatest enemy will be other Azuri's, as they progress and develop through the arena. Although the battle sisters will still be a threat to mid ranked Azuri's, generally, these Azuri's will be strong enough, tough enough and fast enough to handle battle sisters without too much issue.
Although, that being said, the Azuri's recieved a reminder not too long ago that the battle sisters still present a threat. A mid ranked Azuri by the name of 'Zealash' stumbled upon a group of young battle sisters in some Oneye sewage tunnels and decided to pursue them. She was intercepted by high veteran battle sisters assassins who fought her down and beheaded her with their zenith blades. Despite being severed from her body, Zealash's head was still very much alive and functioning, but the sisters shortly threw her head into the sewage nearby and took her body for research. Zealash's head was not found and she drowned in the sewage after a few minutes. Her death a reminder that despite the Azuri's formidable strength... they were not immortal. Zealash's death provoked the Azuri high commander Omen into coaxing her high ranking Azuri's to hunt down the sister responsible and bring her in. The hunt for the sister is still on with there being no sign of her anywhere yet.
HIGH RANKING AZURI
Higher ranking Azuri have begun to develop to impossibly strong that they are no longer challenged the physical world. Their extreme amount of development has lead to weapons proof skin, muscles so strong that they deliver more pounds per square inch of power than any other material in the universe and a mind so experienced that they can predict enemy movements, hours in advance. These Azuri's dedicate their time either to personal training, high priority missions or helping younger Azuri's develop. It takes 1000's and even 10's of 1000's of years for Azuri's to reach this stage. By which point, not even the biggest weapons of the other factions will damage their skin. Not much to say about them really. They are by far the strongest living creatures in existence.
High ranking Azuri's are only deployed in the most dire of situations or when shock factors are required. Their extreme muscle densities and strength give them phenomenal land speeds beyond that of most vehicles, land and air. They can surge through enemy ranks unimpeded and tear through the heaviest of fortifications with ease. High ranking heavy Azuri's are easily the most terrifying of the bunch, with these towering giants easily exceeding 20ft tall and weighing hundreds, sometimes even thousands of tons, they become unstoppable pillars of strength that came rip the battlefield apart with their every movements.
AZURI INTERACTION AND CUSTOMS
Despite the often assumption that Azuri's take everything for face value, theres a surprising amount of beneath the surface detail that is weaved into Azuri society. First and foremost, rank is the strongest gauge of importance between Azuri's. The second believe it or not, is modesty.
When two Azuri's meet for the first time, they'll often exchange rank to see what exactly they are talking to. Higher ranks will often bring more respect and even a sense of excitement to lower ranked Azuri's, should they encounter someone of particularly high rank in their eyes. But Azuri's do not automatically start spilling stories of their successes, bragging is thought of as extremely rude in Azuri society. They will only talk of their stories should they be directly asked, and these will always stem from the acts of valor, strength and intellect, that the Azuri might have earned. Bragging is only done between two types of Azuri's, between the best of friends, or the worst of enemies. Azuri's who have a particular grudge against another may brag of their achievements as a way of challenging the other. This will often lead to a arena 1 v 1 fight, but to decline an arena offer after bragging, no matter what the rank, is seen as one the most humiliating things an Azuri can do to herself.
Once rank is discussed and any particular acts of interest, the Azuri's will often gauge and judge what they want. Whether it be for a quick chat, to make a new friend or even a new sexual partner. But most Azuri's, unless they take a massive dislike to one another, will be polite, chatty and friendly with one another. As a result, Azuri society tends to be a very friendly place for Azuri's and theres very little social stigma among them.
Azuri's however are extremely protective over their bodies and refuse to be touched by people they do not know, unless they are high enough in rank to justify it. For example, Azuri nurses are very few in number, but all are very high in rank. Due to this, Azuri's are actually more than happy enough to be seen by Azuri nurses after massive injuries. Only after discussing rank and acts, will Azuri's even try to make body contact, even for hand shakes and simply gestures like pats on the back and whatnot. People who touch Azuri's before welcome to do so will bring on anger and hatred from the Azuri in question. This is only amplified for non-azuri's, but i'll discuss this later.
Once a friendship has been established however, Azuri's become a lot more relaxed. The extreme protectiveness over their body completely disappears and they become inclined towards body contact and closeness, rather than repelled by it. Azuri friends are known to be very touchy-feely with each-other and also very personal. For example, Omni and Ion who are extremely close friends have absolutely no issue with being naked together or far far more. They often nap together and act as if the two were the closest of lovers. Azuri's who are good friends are expected to have sex with each-other from time to time, with the frequency of the sex dictated by how close the Azuri's are. Best friends may have inter-course with one another on a daily basis, whilst long distance friends who rarely see one another will only do so a couple of times a year.
Sex is massively important in the development of Azuri's, as it builds up confidence, strengthens every muscle in their body, builds relationships, keeps moral high and acts as perfect physical relief for anything that may be bothering the Azuri. Even Azuri's who consider themselves enemies with another may bring themselves to have sex with their nemesis, to keep things casual between them and release tension. Azuri's who have sex on a regular basis with their fellow Azuri's are much happier, healthier and more well developed than those who deprive themselves of it. As a result of this, its no surprise that its such a common occurrence and is actively encouraged all the time. Azuri's who go through desperate battle together and are pushed to their limits together will often forge the deepest of respects and love for each-other, meaning that the times when Azuri's are most vulnerable, i.e. when their young and low ranked, is when the Azuri will most likely make her best friends for life.
NON-AZURI INTERACTION + LUCKY GUY SYNDROME
Azuri's don't have much contact with normal people due to their choice of local and the way their society functions. 99% of the time, when Azuri's meet non-Azuri's, its when their fighting them and killing them. Thus, relations between normal people and Azuri's are extremely strained and borderline non-existent. Beyond that, with Azuri's valuing rank and combat strength so highly, they thus tend to have extremely negative opinions on non-azuri's due to how many of them that simply don't fight. However, in the rare event that an Azuri meets a normal person that she actually wants to speak to, she;ll conduct things as if she were speaking to a normal Azuri, seeking to ask about rank and any particular acts that person may have done... this is where things get complicated and often fail.
"Lucky guy syndrome" is a term labelled by BDA troops to particular people who the Azuri's appear to find attractive. The term has now spread to all those who know of the Azuri's as is often the dream of many. There are particular people who, despite being non-Azuri's, the Azuri's themselves will find physically appealing (Azuri's are primarily lesbian and find one another attractive, thus leading to the name 'lucky guy syndrome' where by its a male that has the correct qualities to be considered attractive by Azuri's). It is not known what causes it, but is is exceedingly rare, to the point where its about 1 in every 10 billion people that the Azuri's find physical appeal in. Lucky guy syndrome is likely to cause Azuri's (should they ever come into contact with you) to be more forgiving and less likely to attack you on sight. Scaarth is a male with lucky guy syndrome, but his success in Azuri society will be detailed later. Lucky guy syndrome does NOT entitle you to free ride to Azuri society, nor does it allow for instant touching or sex or anything beyond talking should the initial contact fail. There are tragic tales of men and women with lucky guy syndrome being beaten to death by Azuri's they tried to grope and begin sexual relations with instantly. Lucky guy syndrome does not make you irresistible to Azuri's on sight, it just means you have the potential for more.
Azuri's do NOT recognise other forms of ranking other than their own with any amount of respect or regard. Thus, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to gain that initial interaction with the Azuri. If you can't prove yourself worthy, they simply will not be interested. Even with LGS, Azuri's will simply turn down offers for a handshake and a friendly hello should they find you too weak or uninteresting. With no real way to prove yourself to Azuri's, this is the most common reason why Azuri's do not get along with non-azuri's. Beyond that, even if you do manage to prove that you have combat capabilities, simply speaking out of place or accidentally bragging can destroy what hopes you had of continuing to speak to her. Talking about events before she asks you is a one way ticket to lones-ville and thats even if she's interest. So clearly, Azuri's are extremely hard to interact with... But, in the event that you succeed and prove yourself worthy to her, plus she takes interest, Azuri's then do not discriminate between non-azuri and azuri friends. You will be treated the same as all her other friends and will be expected to join in when asked.
Scaarth's success is due to many things. Firstly, his career in the Chosen. (Scaarth story is here- http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4076955/) Scaarth had a way to prove to the Azuri's what he made of. They'd witnessed him fighting, the Chosen have given him rewards and money based on his performance. He was capable of proving to Muse when they first met, that he was a warrior and a damn good one at that. Next, Scaarth had Lucky guy syndrome, making Muse want to speak to him first, Muse was the one who initiated the first conversation, which is a very good sign. Next, Scaarth is modest, polite and gentlemanly. He doesn't speak out of turn, he doesn't brag, he's not interested in being the biggest strongest alpha male, he was far more interested in being a nice person. Finally, Scaarth didn't push for sex or intimacy. Azuri's like to be given space to decide what they'd like to do, and Scaarth gave it to her. In short, he proved his rank and worth, didn't brag, let muse decide what she wanted first and was lucky. If anything, Scaarth now finds himself a little too deep into Azuri society. With his strength/rank proven and desire from mid-high rank azuri's, he now finds himself in an abundance of attention from Azuri's.
THE BATTLE SISTERS
The Azuri's and the Battle sisters are similar in a fair few respects but are bitter enemies through and through. The Battle Sisters are a very powerful race of female only super soldier like women who differ to the Azuri's in the following ways:
They do not grow larger than 7ft tall
They can have children
They do not have muscle woven fibre breast tissue or very large breasts
They do not have internal webbing, storm glands or redundancy organs
Their muscles do not increases significantly in performance with training and age
In short, battle sisters are far more like ordinary people, just with massively increased performance across the board and survivability. Anyone can have a child with a battle sister, but battle sisters will only give birth to battle sisters and not half breeds.
BACKGROUND/ORIGINS
So, where exactly did Azuri's come from? Well, for the first time ever, i'm sharing their origins here. For those who are familure with my universe, you'll be aware of two great empires who are shadows of their former selves currently, the DA and Carthonex. Well, there was yet another great empire that was far before these two, it was actually the very first in the universe.
Simple known as the Former, this empire was actually successful and peaceful, more so than the DA achieved. Infact the Former were extremely successful in their ways and bred and produced an extremely efficient and effective empire that ran smoothly and flawlessly. The Former's empire was hundreds of thousands of years ago now but even so, traces of their existence can still be found, Yet the Former's encountered an enemy that simply shouldn't have existed in this plain of existence.
Although parallel universes do exist in my universe, they are strictly contained within themselves and do not across over. Anything capable of breaching the fabric and crossing the gap must be phenomenally powerful to do so. Within one particular universe however, one such event, an anomaly, was powerful enough to cause this to occur. A category 10 anomaly, the most powerful and disruptive and rare of all anomalies occurred within a universe, bearing in mind that a category 10 is similar to say, 1000 black holes suddenly appearing into existence on your front door... yet this event was not to be a destructive one, but a usable one. The anomaly formed a great artefact of tremendous power that allowed the holders of it to do impossible acts...
Bellowing forth from their own universe, pouring into others realities to conquer and claim as their own, the "7th Legion" tore a massive hole into this universes reality and began the flow of endless armies into this realm. Engaging the Former's without warning with their superior endless numbers and warmachines. The Former's armed themselves and bought back on every single front with trillions of soldiers of different species in the largest war this universe has ever witnessed. Yet the 7th legions armies were simply too strong and too numerous to hold back and the Formers began to lose horrendous amounts of territory and people in galactic butchering's and slaughterfest's. The numberless tides of the 7th Legions crushed everything in their path, taking no prisoners and sparing no lives as they shunted and pushed the Former's ever crumbling lines back.
In the Former's citadel, the very heart of their operations, the smartest and best minds the Former had were working on any possible solutions and strategies they could implement. Every hour they spent engineering ideas, planets worth of people were lost and their fate drew ever closer. The 7th legion rift entrance might be all the cause of all their problems, but it was also the start of their solution. The massive rear in the reality fabric was causing a massive increase in anomalies all over the universe as everything became more unstable. Sending their fastest and most mobile fleets out, the Former's managed to gather up a surprising number of strange artefacts of their own, nothing that could single handedly change the course of this war though... yet. The Former's great minds divided themselves into several divisions. Stealth, Survival, Direct warfare, experimental weapons and tactics and Escape. Each with obvious goals in mind. Stealth was dedicated to finding ways to avoid detection and perhaps save people through that means, Survival was dedicated to saving the people who were out there right now, performing surveillance and organising civilian rescue, beyond that, they were also figuring out ways to rebuild should they actually survive this. Direct warfare were in charge of upgrading current arms and fighting the 7th legion. Escape was looking into the possibility of using the Legions rift to escape to another universe themselves and finally, experimental weapons and tactics were looking into absolutely any possibility of victory by any means, no matter the cost.
With absolute havoc tearing across the entire universe, anomalies ripping into existence left right and center and the very end of the Former's empire mere weeks away at this rate, each division found themselves overwhelmed with pressure. Experimental weapons and tactics is where our story takes us, as it was this division that ultimately succeeded in their goal. There were two main areas they were looking into. The implementation of cyborg mainframes to command purely robotic fighters in combat. I.E. removing someones brain, wiring it up into a computer and using it to control robots more effectively. And hyper evolution of current bodies to produce more capable soldiers. With the division equally split between ideas, they decided to follow both. Gathering volunteers from their own group for either procedure.
The hyper evolution and engineering was only possible through the discovery of an another extremely powerful, yet usable anomaly they recovered from near the rift itself. (More powerful anomalies occur closer to the rift, making them more dangerous to recover, but the efforts of the stealth division paid off in that respect). Through it, they could speed up millions of years of development into just a few hours. But the volunteers were given a choice. Either, you just straight upgrade as you are, or, we engineer your body to fight. The group was again split between the two choices, some deeming it a necessity to be engineered for war, others refusing to sacrifice what little they had left to this war. Perhaps what was most strange about the volunteers was the fact that they were all female. All male volunteers had gone to the mechanisation process instead. But beyond that, within a few days, the first batch of super soldiers were created, standing a good foot higher than previously. The very first generation of women soon to become known as Azuri's and Battle Sisters respectively. Yet the war was already coming to an end, the Formers on their very last legs ahead of predictions. All other divisions apart from Escape had failed in their task. The 7th legion's armies prepared to batter at the Former's final and last stand, the Citadel.
The mechanisation operation was no where near ready for large scale conflicts yet, so it was up to the remaining soldiers alive and the first generation of Azuri's and Battle sisters to hold the front against the first assault. The Azuri's took the front lines, the first batch containing a mere 200 of them. The battle sisters numbers into the 1000's as they stood behind the Azuri's, ready to fight. The first engagement was brutal, just as all of them had been. over 300 battle sisters died, thousands of what little normal soldiers were left, but the Azuri's held. Only 15 of the 200 dying in the first assault. Their bodies enduring the walls of Legion munitions they were forced to stand against. The first assault was fought off valiantly. But the second assault would be here in mere minutes and huge numbers of the Azuri and Battle sister forces were so badly injured they could barely function anymore. Azuri's with limbs missing, lumps of flesh tore from their bodies by explosive rounds, guts hanging out and exposed from tore mid sections... only 30 Azuri's from the original group were capable of fighting the second assault off and 70 battle sisters. Yet the took their positions once more at the ruined front gates of the citadel and prepared once more. Amongst them, a black dragoness with white hair and deep blue eyes, stood fearless with her breather-in. The mechanical division rustled up what they could, their first prototypes and soldiers to help hold the line. Should this battle be lost, the Former's would be destroyed by the 7th Legion.
The second assault poured in, more numerous than the first, clashing and smashing against the lines of remaining warriors, erupting through their ranks and pouring into the ground of a citadel. Yet more battle sisters died by the Azuri's held their ground, enduring more than anyone could have expected. Bones broken, skin battered, muscle pierced, organs ruined and yet they still stood their ground. Gravely wounded Azuri's who were supposed to be recovering hauled themselves from their beds and fought in the grounds of the citadel, just buying whatever time they could. The second assault seemingly going on forever but yet never quite breaching the final divisions HQ. Meanwhile, the mechanical division prepared itself for motion as its final operations were completed and the gravely wounded Azuri's who simple couldn't fight were returned to their growth tanks to be repaired and upgraded to the next generation. New battle sisters were in the process of creation, but the Azuri's were simply to resource heavy to produce from scratch, instead, Azuri's could only be upgraded. Generation two Azuri's were out within a couple of hours as well as the first entirely mechanical sentient assault bots, who were clad in the very latest armour and weapons, devised and produced from captured 7th Legion technology. With a batch of 50 new generation two Azuri's and the MSAB's on the move now, the original Azuri's still holding that front gate could fall back and receive their upgrades as the courtyard and grounds of the Citadel were cleared out. They held out... just... and the process repeated. Wounded Azuri's fall back for upgrades, new Azuri's replace them, new generation MSAB's and battle sisters fill the gaps and provide support. This continued for a few days until the Azuri's reached generation 7 funnily enough. By which point, it was decided that this simple cannot continue, the citadel was being worn down and sooner or late, the 7th legion would destroy it... and that would spell the end of this resistance.
The 7th legion eased for a couple of days on their assault to reconfigure and gear up for another assault, they were honestly getting worried about the strength the Azuri's. They were becoming extremely resistant to damage and were becoming an active threat on the battlefield, but without the Citadel there, they knew that it would only be a matter of time before they fell. So, they geared up to just bombard and assault the Citadel directly and try and rush past the Azuri front lines. But the Former's had their own plans. The hyper intellect of the mechanisation division had just kicked in, the fruits of success from their efforts producing far more than they could have expected, the combined processing power of the super computers and intellect of the minds integrated into them forming an unstable but extremely powerful system. The people Chosen for this operation were the very brightest minds, integrated together to form a biological super computer that had the processing power of the Former's most powerful conventional computers to do the heavy lifting of the calculus for them. This system soon produced plans for a weapon that could close the rift and kill those who's passed through it. A two ton anti matter bomb, integrated with several very specific artefacts found, when hurled into the rift would cause it to implode in on itself, pulling everything that came through it back into its maw and crushing it into nothingness.
But that would mean fighting through the 7th Legions unstoppable tide to reach the Rift on this planet. (They tended to open rifts up where the fights where, the bomb would cause ALL rifts to close regardless of which it was thrown into). So, they risked everything. All Azuri's, Battle sisters, very remaining soldiers and MSAB's would be used to transport this bomb across the ruined planet to deliver the bomb to its destination. Azuri's would assault the front, everyone else would hold the flanks. The final battle was horrendous, killing vast amounts of the Former's very last force. The Azuri's initially pushed well, but the battle sisters flank fell from a sweeping assault and the result was the Azuri's being assault on every side, tearing their force apart as the 7th Legion brought their heaviest firepower in to down the Azuri's. Their numbers being crushed from 150 surviving Azuri's, to a mere 13. The remaining and surviving battle sisters lost their nerve and fell back, the MSAB's were flanked and crushed but continued to fight however they could, even self destructing to simply buy the Azuri's more time. The remaining 13 Azuri's roared out in fury, grabbing the bomb from its armoured truck and carrying it by hand as they fought through the tides, refusing to fall and die. Their bodies being torn to shreds by the volleys of hellfire and void winds that tear the flesh off people who dare stray near the Voids. A massive wall of 7th Legion soldiers, tanks, gunships and hell beasts formed to prevent the Azuri's advancing any further, but just when it seemed all was lost, the very last MSAB's hurled themselves into the front line, their ruined chassis's falling apart as they lunged forward and self destructed to blast a hole through. The Azuri's with their very last strength advanced and fought to the very last round in their weapons, then simply body blocking for the bomb carrier to advance forward, just protecting her from the vast flurries of bullets and slugs raining down from every direction until she got close enough to hurl the payload into the Void.
The deafening roar of the blast combined with the eerie stretching of the Void's call erupted into a cosmic event, the 7th legion being forcibly ripped from this plane of existence and simply discarded into nothingness. The battlefield left peacefully still from the events. All looked to be dead until a few hours later, where by a single figure stirred and stood, her single remaining eye searching for her fallen Azuri's who came too shortly after, the surviving 13 Azuri's helped one another and limped to a safe spot as a transport arrived to pick them up from the ruined citadel. The last attack the legion made before being annihilated had destroyed all but one area. The experiential weapons and tactics HQ. With a few surviving battle sisters and the combined super computer that was produced by the mechanical division. The Former's empire was no more, there was so little of it left that it was pointless to try and rebuild. This group was the only real form of survivors from the attack. Plans were made with what little resources were left to evolve the Azuri's one final time. This time, the improvements were not for combat, but for living.
The remaining battle sisters took the remaining male researchers and left to start again, whilst the Azuri's swore to protect the super computer that had won the war and given some humanity back and rebuild there....
TBC - So yeah, finally decided to share where the Azuri's came from. Let me know what you think!
*Nods*
Regardless, this is really good detailed information on these alien beauties!
Your comment about them not having anymore natural predators got me curious as well. What or who were they, exactly?

Do they have any goal as a species? Are they peacekeepers or conquerors? What is their place in your universe?
What about their history? Who created the first batch and how long ago was that?
Just being curious
Azuri goals? Depends on who you speak to you really. Amethyst wants to protect the universe against threats like the 7th Legion, Omen wants to crush everything in a display of power. Their place in the universe depends on who you speak to, originally, they were the front line and protectors against the most extreme of threats, but now they fight less important battles.
As for their history and creation, its all above.
and the origin story seems to explain so much already... can't wait to read more.
Also do the Azuri have an actual culture (e.g. art, music or theatre)
Azuri traits like hybrid species and vampirism are randomly generated by the ancient cores when the Azuri batch is being grown.
I get what you mean, I've played around with the balance for ages, decided that I'd rather have it self contained balanced rather than balanced around the idea of 3rd party interactions. They're defo OP, but that's they're role in the grand scheme of things.
And there's also the Emperor with his galaxy-level psyonic powers, the Tyranids with their limitless numbers, and the Necrons with their hax tech...
And God help them once Chaos enters the picture.
If I was to answer genuinely, I'd say the lower and mid-rank Azuri would likely get taken out of the picture as they simply don't have the toughness to survive yet. But the high-rank and commanders would be giant problems for any faction in 40k to deal with. Azuri toughness and strength scale infinitely and the anomalous nature of their composition renders them immune to weapons that otherwise ignore toughness like the necron gauss tech. At the risk of upsetting 40k fanboys, any Azuri high commander could easily body several primarchs in a single fight, but could they actually destroy the imperium? Nah, too few of them.
Now the Chosen on the other hand... I would tread lightly versus them. They have the strength AND the scale.
And let's not mention the absurdity of trying to fight the four Gods themselves. They are outerversal deities who embody certain concepts, and are impossible ti kill. If the eldritch properties of the Warp doesn't take care of the Azuri, the gods certainly will.
Khorne: Chaos God of war, bloodshed and martial pride, who is literally powered by combat. Fighting Khorne would be like fighting Godzilla with nuclear weapons, it would just make him stronger.
I'm not interested in a dick swinging competition against 40k though so I don't think I'll take this conversation any further, no disrespect intended. I don't find power comparisons versus other fictions compelling.
