I would not mass produce sell any copyrighted characters period. Including pokemon. You'll be safer.

I've seen a lot of mlp, pokemon and digimon adult artbooks being sold, that's why I was dabbling with the ideas of doing characters everyone knows. I know it's legal at least in Japan and a lot of folks do it here in america, especially with mlp.

Hum... well, even if it's a bit lacking in "help", I would say that look at the recent works being sold by others, and find "what is missing?", try to find a minority that's excluded, yet you think people have interest in, then aim for that. No use competing with the rest, just lowers your chances as a whole. Can be a semi-safe card to do something bland, generic and uninspired. But personally at least think it's better with variation.

Potentially yes. The risk with that is that not 107 % of your buyers will want everything. (TCG's never have this problem due to how they're handled, but artbooks aren't TCG's xD) So while it broadens your audience, might be a good idea to keep within a theme. (like... if ex: picking bondage, have maledom, femdom and whatnot instead of just one of them. Normal people liking it shouldn't be utterly against any of the other, but will still be able to enjoy all content. Even if not fully. Most monotone books tend to just have one thing. Like all the recent futa ones. It's like... "we have one thing... that's it..." Like sure, it gives most what it wants... but it's basically the same over and over in most of them.

Huge crossovers are great imo. Main problem is that ex: Someone into pokemon might be "I love the idea of poke-porn, but I don't want to have to pay for some damn ponies!" so in that regard, it can collide a bit. Things like this are surprisingly calculate-able with statistics and psychology xP Like, for random unchecked example: "Lets see... do people like futa? Apparently yes. Is there many people offering that service? ... yes there is... do people like heshe? ... that they also do it seems. Anyone offering that? ... no-one? Well then, lets supply that!" Like, comparably, if you have 100 fans of futa, and compete with 7 other people, that is on average 14 sales. If there "only" 45 into heshe, but only one other person offering, that gives you an estimate of 22-23 sales. So in that case, a lower number gives you a better pay-off...though, humans are douchebags by nature, and if you in any way noticed that you could ruin sales for someone by doing a certain topic, even if less beneficial for you, most people insensitively go for that options. (we're a peculiar species)

So yeah, there's quite a bit of contemplation to do. But personally have to advice that try and find a topic you enjoy. Like, I know for a fact that there's quite a few people interested in seeing mlp porn with more "proper" horsecunts, and even want to see antrho's with them. Or overall more "intimate, IC" porn. But if someone doesn't have any interest in those, the outcome for attempting said art tends to be a bit mediocre. (just warning since I know some themes are VERY well paying due to the rarity of them, but if not having the interest in them, attempt to cash in on them can lead to lacking the "pazaz" the fans of that subject want... and sorry if I trailed off xD

no no, this is all very good advice! I like that you trailed off into all of this, I appreciate it a lot! :D It would be a lot of fun to give something that everyone would like, but is a well known enough topic that folks would enjoy and want to buy. I chose topics to throw in there because I either like them or I've done commissions over them or I find them interesting enough to draw. There's a lot of thought that's going to be going into this and these variables need to be thought out as well.

Okies. I know I trail off a tad bit much at times, and not all are fans of it yanno? xP And yeah, it would be a lot of fun, and neat. But like said; there's the risk of a JCPenny effect.
But yeah, gotta aim for a good mix. Don't want people going "Not gonna pay for something I won't use everything in."
That, and avoiding too generic themes. Will have a CoD backlash otherwise. As, people would already have their ex: futafolio, they won't need another seven.

I can't say I have any knowledge on digital-related things or actual publications, but I can promote your book on my tumblr every now and then. I've got 203 followers, couple of them furries, and some feminist blogs (though I'm not sure if they're all for promoting some furry stuff, don't know if they're weird about that).

1. I'd go with printed. That way, in the likely event that person is deprived of internetz, he/she still has fap material. :Y

2. In terms of themes, I say go with variety. Bitches love variety. (It'll be like a bag of Chex Mix!) [Tentacles seems like a good start]

3. You could always go with ad banners. It'll cost ya some, but that's just Keynesian Economics at work. But for a more inexpensive modem of getting the word out, have sum of your peeps spread the word via journals.

I recently participated in a kickstarter-like funding thing on offbeatr for an adult artbook (slime monster themed), it was up there for a while, not sure if you can search up or contact creators of completed projects? Maybe give them a shout and see how they went about the publishing aspect; I do know that they featured multiple guest artists, and for higher tier funders they even offered commissions from said artists too! May be worth checking out if you get it done up in physical form. I'd buy one! :3
