This new rule and how it effects raffles (important)
Ok, so, from what I've gathered from this new rule, ENFORCED raffle pimping is now banned.
What this means is that artists and/or raffle hosts are no longer allowed to tell people that in order to enter a raffle, they HAVE to make a promotional journal in order to be considered.
Fine, that may be the case. However, that means that while enforcing it is no longer allowed, entrants are still allowed to promote the raffle IF THEY SO WISH. It's OPTIONAL
To me, raffle pimping is something necessary for newer artists to get their name out. It means that newer artists can reach out to those not already watching them and potentially gain new watchers and commissioners.
I've met a lot of good artists through raffles and auctions. Some of them have become very close friends of mine... and if it wasn't for a YCH, I'd never have got talking to my most beloved pet,
Raffles, auctions and YCHs are close to my heart for more reasons that just art. I won't let some namby-pamby rule change that!!!
So I ask you artists, one and all, not to stand AGAINST this rule, but do exactly what it says. Keep doing raffles and keep promoting yourselves. Make the pimping optional!
And to all you out there who enjoy and join raffles, be it for the fun of entering them, or just because you really like free art, don't just throw out your ref link... PROMOTE the artist and their raffle. Just because it's optional to make a journal, do it anyway! Allow more people to know the artist and allow more people to enter the raffles that everyone loves!
Don't run and hide on other sites! Don't fall into a depression from this obviously tyrannical ruling! Stand up and be passive-aggressive, and show them that we won't give up doing what we love, just because of a few whiny little people!
And to all those who bitch and moan about journal spam or whatnot. Frankly, if you don't like it, then YOU leave and go to other sites. Unwatch the artist/s doing the raffles and the people who are entering said raffles!

I am sure this will keep 80% of artists from doing raffles now which is sad because
I know many people use raffles to get art of their sonas because they cannot afford most prices for art.
If FA admins keep this up, they are going to loose all their artists that pay to advertise on this site.
I know plenty who have already left for weasly, inkbunny and other sites.
They can't stand how the admins here don't communicate on anything and there is no organization.
It stations that forcing people to create a journal in order to gain entry to your raffle is now banned. To me, that's saying that raffles are still allowed, but whether someone pimps out your raffle is up to them, but they cannot be excluded from the draw BECAUSE they didn't promote said raffle
I will try to pimp raffles but only for smaller artists, bigger artists get enough money X3
I knew someone would find a loophole but didn't expect it so well put or this soon. Thanks. :)
I think overall the charitable pimping won't be nearly as far-reaching as the forced to pimp journals.
Please don't kill me. Just being the devil's advocate. D:
When these raffles started to do the offer of money and a games console, it started to get out of hand, which is why the clamp down on it started up.
If people want to promote a new artists then a better way to do it, would be to buy art from them, and then in the title for the art, by artist (name), allowing them to get some advertising that way, without the need of say 80 people trying to win a raffle and basically spamming the journals, which it was basically about.
I thought I'd clear up the misunderstanding a bit.
You're welcome ^^
