A visit to Denver, CO

Yep, just what it says. This Jan 6th I will be coming up to visit for a couple reasons, one you could probably guess, but the other is of a more serious nature and one I will ask some help on if you know anything.
I will be coming up to scout apartments. Yep, it's nearly time and I need to know my options of where I can live. There are a couple requirements I would like to go by but those can always bend. As for the local friends I have up there, well, it's easier to find local apartment information when you already live there so PLEASE HELP.
1: Looking for a place somewhere within the Denver area, like two hours out max if possible.
2: Would like it to be $500-700 in monthly costs if possible, I know I can do something like this, but I wouldn't mind under that too.
3: Nowhere sketchy :p
4: I would not mind a roommate.
4A: I'm friendly, clean and quiet :p
But yeah, this is the idea at least, and I would be wrong to say that isn't my only reasons for visiting up there after the holidays. Actually this trip is also something of a Christmas/Birthday present to myself since it is smack between them, so yeah. Might see some of you up there if anything comes of this, I won't come right away, but knowing and visiting is something that I need even if it might be spring/summer before I make the move.
