Christmas underway! What is your best memory?

90sgirlIt's December! The month of sappy warm Christmas cheer! And I for one love it! (Next to Halloween it is my favorite!)
Here is my story:
You would think my favorite memory would be the one year I was surprised with my first bike? Nope! See when I was little (In about.... 1st or 2nd grade) me and Mom were pretty much struggling with cash. There was one point where I had to stay with my Grandparents and she lived on the streets until things got fixed up (She's very stubborn by the way, wanted no help XD) We got lucky and were pretty much taken in by Carl (I've mentioned him a few times, for you new watchers, he's the one my main character's personality is loosely based off of) We were still strained for cash, most things we got by luck. Like my favorite barbie doll I got from my very spoiled friend who didn't want it because it lost an ear ring so she gave it to me.
That Christmas we didn't really have a tree, we couldn't afford to buy or afford to trip to hack one down, and also few, if any gifts. On Christmas night Mom and I went out, our usual tradition of going to a gas station called Sheetz for free hot chocolate and to look at lights. When we got back we flicked on the lights and our living room was filled and I mean FILLED with gifts! All with "from Santa" on the boxes, and right in the middle was a small little Christmas tree. And you can imagine how happy and excited I was! And the thing is, later on in years it turns out, my Mom knew NOTHING about it! It was our friend(s) who gathered up the money, and took the time to make that possible for us ^^
Wonderment and good will can do wonders for a person! If we don't lose that then we are still golden ^w^
