Alright, if it was not clear in my hastily thrown together new years journal, this is the journal where you can submit your song to the contest. Every link related to the contest you send here, I'll look over it personally and choose what I think the top ten or five songs are.
A recap on the info in the last journal. You should check that your song follows all the rules before posting your submission to this journal:
After taking note of a request a few of you sent in to me, I've decided that the song can be up to a minute long.
-Your song must be 1:00 min or less to qualify
-Your song can be any genre, but must remain PG.
-You may only submit a total of three songs, and only one of them can go on to the next round.
-The contest will finish it's first round at the end of the month, January. In the following month the second round will start up and by the end of February the winner will be chosen.
-You must have submitted your song to FA after 2013 for it to be considered.
-The winner will receive a promotional interview from
DJ~P.U.P. (That's me!), a music commission from 
NIIC, and a prepaid art commission from 
orcaowl

Rules are rules, mate... everyone else who has competed found a way to meet the 1:00 or less limit. Maybe you could listen to some of the other songs in the competition to get some ideas?
Keep pushing, and if worse comes to worse, you can always submit another whole song!

Here's an orchestral piece I just finished, which is something I've never done before. "Atlas":

And this one is a sort of psychedelic rock jam I did quite a while back (but it kinda went by unnoticed). I think this is the best song in my whole body of work so far. I'm not sure what the rules are here- like if we can't submit more than one, or it has to be recent, I guess just consider the first one. "Left It Behind":

These are both all original- though synthesized- so I don't know what category either one would fall under.
You should focus on taking what you learned when creating that successful song of yours, 'Left it behind', and change it, evolve it, so that the traits that made your old song successful will make all new songs successful. That's what divides the great musicians from the mediocre, see: those who take chances, adapt their music, and solder on, and those who fall into a rut where they become obsessed with an old success, and cling onto it as their productivity takes a nose dive!
Heed my words, friend, and never stop evolving your music!
