Getting Fursonal

The often unusual musings of an old cat
Well what can I say here?
Lately I've been getting s lot of traffic for my project "Getting Fursonal". As of the posting of this journal I think I'm in danger of over taxing my fun funds. Ah well. I guess Paypal is a double edged sword.
Well to business. Since I'm getting asked about it here is an explanation of the project. I send the following letter of greeting to whichever artist has my attention.
***********************
I am approaching you with a request to join in a commission collection I am building. I call it “Getting Fursonal” and for a good reason. The name reflects my understanding that while this is a clean and fun project it could come across as a bit “fanboy”.
I am asking artists with a female fursona to draw her in an unexposed nude. That is to say her private areas are not exposed. She will be covered by creative body placement, scenery interaction or well placed props. Basically if you’ve ever drawn her in a bikini she has already been seen as exposed as this project calls for.
The original inspiration for this project was the calendars we often hear about where the participants pose in a similar fashion to raise money for Breast Cancer. As such I have decided to donate $5 to Breast Cancer research for each one of these completed.
So, would you be interested in being a Getting Fursonal girl?
**************************
Part of the allure is the psychology of the thing. Who will say "yes", who will say "no" and what will their reasons be?
Back when I created Tef I was extremely, maybe even overly protective of him. I think this project is reflective of my own loosening up with his use.
So basically, for those who asked, that is Getting Fursonal
DA RULEZ
Rule One
I and the contributing artist must negotiate entry into the project. Sorry but I've had a few people throw a contribution at me out of the blue. I kind of want to keep control of my own project. That's fair isn't it?
Rule Two
Existing female fursonas only. That is the nature of the project. Making up a new character or turning your normal male fursona into a female just for the project doesn't qualify.
Rule Three
All art must fit the theme of the project. The basic theme is: Artist's fursona nude, but covered. That's it. I may suggest a pose and cover for the character, but the artist does have full control as long as the final project fits the aforementioned theme.
Rule Four
I will donate $5 for each finished piece I receive.
Rule Five
I will post a scan of any receipts or money order copies to my Scraps folder as proof of donation
Rule Six
There is NO rule Six
Rule Seven
Have fun with it!
It is important to note here that this is a personal project only. There are no plans to make it into any sort of published fund raiser book.

I'll see where I am in January 09. I do need to know something though. You said you have a few "characters", the project isn't characters it's fursonas. I'd need to know about your fursona and see an example. From there we can negotiate a pose and price. I recently signed up for paypal, failing that my bank is merged with a US bank so a money order from me while coming from Canada is in US funds and backed by Wells Fargo.
So keep in touch to keep you in my mind and well see what happens in 09. Do you have any references of your fursona?
-Tef
I'd be on board with that - sounds like a cute idea with a good cause.
it's nice to see furry giving back a little bit :3
I would love to be involved in it, how exactly does it work? We submit something and you donate $5 to breast cancer research?
Currently I have a situation very similar to one experienced by artists...my commission list is about full.

This has been a very expensive month for me. Dental work, new mattress, new driver lic and plate registry, and so forth. I also have a few other commissions in progress that I'd like to have cleared before hand.
IS there already a female version of your character? Is there a ref of her or at least of him?
and no worries, I can understand financial issues (have plenty of my own I just got past). So take your time :3
My mom had/has cancer, so It's something I really would like to be a part of.
When I get my fun money built up again I'll be watching for your commission status to open to invite you into this project. Not now, but eventually.

I'm at a standstill at the moment to let the other commissions I have in the works get completed and delivered.
I have also taken a look at your gallery and you don't seem to have a female fursona in anthro form. The project is focused on anthro female fursonas. So no offense, but I feel I must decline your offer. I do thank you for taking the time to care about the cause.
Any other way you can help? Support the cause in your own way, or pick a charity/cause that speaks to you and support that.

Thank you for you well wishes and for your support.

I have a female, I draw her cleverly nude all the time, and she's feline! If you want her in a spot I'd love to contribute. Hell, I get to drawing her anyway just so it's ready for you and/or FA in general.
So who did you see that led you here?
Hopefully we can find the solution in time to stop your worries. It's unfortunate we haven't progressed far enough to help your grandma.
Tef
I think this project is a wonderful idea and I'd love to be apart of it!
Not sure where to go from the "Hell yes great idea!" reaction though. P:
I assume you PM people interested?
I looked through your gallery and have not found an anthro form of UK. I may have missed it. Is there one?
She can be pretty much anything tbh.
This is pretty much it, but I got rid of the hair because I suck at it xD - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4221292/
She's in this one too, but you can't really see her - http://whitewolf16.deviantart.com/a.....57061&qo=4
Aaand this old one - http://whitewolf16.deviantart.com/a.....7061&qo=58
Like I say, pretty diverse really. P:
Basically we work out a price, art level (pencil ink colour) and a pose and go from there.
I'm unsure on price, because it would depend on the media used. I'd like to experiment with watercolor and do a full color piece, maybe with a simple wash background. So it'd be pretty cheap, probably $25 and under if this were a regular commission. I'd like to do some kind of lounging pose, with a laughing expression. I wonder if I should contact you via note/email??
"$25 and under" sounds doable. I may be about to win a draw your character over this pre drawn body form auction if I don't get sniped, plus A second Getting Fursonal in the works. Not really an issue, I'm one of those rare furs with a job.
hahaha, I totally know what you mean! Having a job is pretty nice, but you do have to balance your time. Please let me know what will work best for you :)
The project is still going, just slowed down. I've posted most of the items to an alternate account
How it works is I commission an artist to draw their own character, pay them and then I donate $5 to breast cancer. However I control who does or does not go into the project and when. Otherwise I could get overwhelmed and start losing money. There are two new submissions from
