All-new type of Con Badge to wear. Commissions Open!
I guess I should also make the mandatory journal entry about the entirely new commission option I have released lol.
I was never quite open for 'badges' in long terms in my commissions because I wanted to do something very different from the rest whenever I would get around adding badges as a permanent mainstay to commission options. Well the time has finally arrived and the project is green.
I now do custom painted T-shirts. Check HERE for the image upload example and basic overview.
But for finer details, the process starts with me doing an original digital artwork much like doing a normal badge. However, since final product is much larger, the size of the image to be used can be much larger than a typical badge. This digital file is also sent to buyer to re-size, post, print out or whatever they want if they'd like to use it as a more conventional badge as well. This image I then replicate myself onto the shirt. No cheap transfer papers or iron-on prints that don't show up well on dark colors here. I use Textile acrylics and paint brush to replicate image. Due to the traditional nature of hand-painting them and mixing the colors myself, it will have very slight deviations from original digital image. But I try to maintain a 95%+ likeness to original.
The shirts themselves are most often FoTL cotton blend crew tees (usually 50/50 cotton & polyester) however, buyer may ask for other preferred brands or styles (long sleeve, V-neck, etc) in their size as the base, this will affect final quote price though. For wash and care of the final product, they can just go in the cold wash with all your other shirts and be fine. They can last a good long time with regular wear and wash. Just maybe turning it inside-out may be as far as you'll need to go to prolong the image's life.
For price and timeframe, I cannot set hard prices like the other commissions as the nature of these commissions fall under 'traditional' art. So each one will be priced based on factors and details buyer would like. These could include, but not limited to, how much of character is shown (example, headshot being lower cost than a bust with flexing arms), fur patterns and stripes, length of name, flat colored vs shaded, wings, tattoos, etc. But to toss something in a ballpark range to think of, these may be quoted at $40 and easily up. For a timeframe on completion, hard to say, but if needed for a con or other dated events, ordering a few weeks ahead of time is best scenario.
For shipping, the price given to buyer does cover it already, long as it's Domestic US. I can ship internationally, but that would require extra shipping cost, and also more time. So be sure to order as far ahead as possible.
That's all I can think of posting right now for details, but if you have any questions or interests, please feel free to comment here, on the image linked above, or send over a note ;)
