Borderline Personality Disorder awareness
11 years ago
If there's one good thing to come of this whole drama issue, it's that I've realized that a lot of individuals I've been interacting with are at risk of having Borderline Personality Disorder.
Individuals with BPD are noted for having a tendency to feel emotions very deeply (and that will change at a moment's notice), and also for what's known as "black-and-white thinking" or "splitting."
Basically, to someone with BPD, people are either paragons of virtue, or reprehensible aspects of vice. There are no in-betweens. In fact, they will apply those labels to the same person, alternating between loving and hating them on a seeming whim.
This leads to situations where such individuals can cause vast amounts of emotional and physical harm to themselves or others.
Borderline Personality Disorder is a very, very serious condition, and if untreated, can have tragic results.
However, there is hope! If you or someone you know has been exhibiting the previously-mentioned symptoms, please please go to the following link:
http://www.bpdresourcecenter.org/
Doing so can save lives; one of those lives may even be your own.
EDIT: To those individuals telling me to remove this journal - all of which, so far, have claimed to have already "left FA", but whatever - no. I will not. I am not claiming to be a licensed doctor, nor am I telling people that everyone with BPD is a bad person - what I am doing is advising people who may be at risk for BPD to seek treatment. If you disagree with me, fine, but I will not harbor attempts to start arguments or fights on my page. I will block you. Go soapbox on your own pages, don't shit all over mine, okay?

Borderline has similarity to autism on some cross points btw.
The most freaking thing about it is that they can not stay in one emotion for too long, be it sad or happy. they will start to do something to force ether emotion up if being too long in one.
I certainly can say you can not help a borderliner unless they WANT to change something. They are smart and they are far from helpless. If they do not recognize what they have as an issue they will not to shit about it. No matter the cost. And rather name it as an excuse for it.
I've had a lot of experience with it and i have my reason why I keep my distance when I smell BPD a block away.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
You have similarity to being a worthless sack of shit who doesn't know anything, btw.
As for the autism I was referring to research material. Not my own opinion.
Try learning to have a little empathy, think a little less shallowly and come back next time.
With the autism I am referring not as a personal but as a scientific quote. Look it up.
Assuming everyone who has a strong emotional reaction or splitting has BPD is a really great way to trivialize the disease as well as convince a ton of people that they have a disorder that they know nothing about.
Also, saying people with BPD are a danger to others is really furthering the stereotype that we're "crazy" and will hurt other people. Considering my commitment to doing as little harm as possible, I'm angered by the idea that you have any right to tell others that I am a danger. That's the kind of thing that gets people locked up against their will... or hurt. Please, please, PLEASE consider removing this journal.
I'm not removing this journal. If you notice, all I've done is raise awareness that this is an actual thing, and I also posted a resource link for people to seek assistance.
If that bothers you, then you have my sympathies, but I will stand behind my decision to make people aware of a very serious disorder, and to encourage people to seek treatment if needed.
This is no different than a journal asking people who have loved ones that are showing signs of depression or self-harm to seek treatment for Major Depressive Disorder.
Assuming that somebody might suffer from BPD just because they get rightfully worked up over this huge issue is preposterous and insulting. The symptoms you have listed are vague and BPD is hard to diagnose but I can assure you that rightful anger is not a symptom of a mental disorder of any kind. Wanting to help people and raise awareness is great and all, but what you're doing is insulting, hurtful and simply wrong. I am certainly not suffering from BPD and I too am angry about the whole Zaush debacle, the rape apologists and the piss poor management of FA.
