Rhode Island Furbowl 23 will take place on Saturday, February 1 at 7 p.m. at East Providence Lanes at 80 Newport Avenue, East Providence, RI. (MAP IS HERE)
The cost for bowling is $10 per person. I will collect the money and use it to pay the staff at the end of the night.
I still think we're getting a good turnout as far as the number of attendees, and everyone loves the new alley. I was a little disappointed that only four people actually bowled at the last event, but I also understand that some people would rather socialize.
We do have the party room, and while it was originally intended to be the private changing room for the fursuiters, it seems to have become a gathering place for everyone, which works for us.
We are still getting good reactions from the other guests at the alley, and I hope it keeps up. People seem to be okay with coming up to our group and asking to take pictures of our fursuiters (even if they don't know who they are). As always, respect the other guests of the alley and be on your best behavior at all times. The Code of Conduct is listed below.
With the second anniversary of this furbowl coming up in April, I've been thinking about perhaps having us either stay a little longer or arrive a little later at the alley. It seems to me that the party atmosphere in the alley picks up just as we leave. The trade-off of staying later is the trouble in finding a place to eat after bowling, mostly because the buffet we regularly go to closes at 10. So the possibilities are: eating as a group before the furbowl and coming in later, eating at the alley and staying later, or staying longer at the alley and finding another place to eat that closes at 11. The idea is still up in the air, so I'm looking for feedback on this.
I've wanted our group to participate in giving to charity or attending a charity event for a long time. I've discovered that East Providence Lanes will be hosting a charity bowling event in the future. It is run yearly by the Pawtucket Red Sox and is called "Strike Out Cancer!" The event benefits The Tomorrow Fund, a local non-profit organization that provides financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families. Information can be found at this link. We know that East Providence Lanes already accepts our fursuits, but will the event organizers be willing to have our fursuiters there, especially when Paws, the PawSox mascot, is very likely to show up? Before I contact anyone official to ask about us being there, I need to find out if anyone is even interested in doing this at all. There are two big problems that I see: 1) The event is on Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m., a Tuesday evening in the middle of the week, and 2) If you are bowling, the cost is $25 per bowler and the money goes to charity. So it would be a slightly more expensive, higher-profile furbowl taking place in the middle of the week. Please let me know if this sounds like a good idea, and if there is enough interest, then I'll contact the organizers.

Code of Conduct: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3321444/ Please be on your best behavior and use common sense. There will be families and children present. Please be courteous to the other guests of the alley. You are representing the Furry Fandom while you are there.
Ears, tails, collars and fursuits are welcome. A room will be provided as changing space and a break area for fursuiters. Please be aware that this is taking place at the same time as Cosmic Bowling when the lights are dimmed and loud music is being played.
There is a bar at the alley and all standard Rhode Island alcohol consumption laws are in effect. Underage drinking is not allowed and do not buy drinks for those who are underage. If you do drink, please do so in moderation.
Please RSVP on this journal or contact me,
CirrusSkyDragon. Please let me know if you and your friends are coming and if you will be bowling and/or fursuiting.

To be honest, that buffet made me and a few others sick multiple times unfortunately, so, lol, I'm terrified to eat their anymore. That's why we've not shown up there after the bowl. We usually just hit a 99 or something.
I'm definitely down for hanging longer and finding more places to chill at. Keep up the variety and all. :3
(Sorry was focused on the facebook side of things I forgot to give my own feedback X3)
