The Death Of Gazelle

For of you who know me, or keep up with my Facebook, you will know that I haven’t really been myself since the death of Gazelle and with Houdini coming up missing. Gazelle lost his life from some asshole shooting him three times with a crossbow. There is an investigation going on, and if I do ever find out who ever it was, I will do my best to press charges and get game ranching amount that he was worth, which was valued over $25,000. I know that no amount of money or any material goods will ever bring him back, but I wanted to make the person responsible feel some suffering for the dead that they have done. “Personally I would like to make them suffer by breaking their kneecaps so that way they will always have a constant reminder, for taking a life on an innocent animal.”
Last Tuesday night, I was in my studio working on art, “in Facebook I said paying bills”, I heard some noises coming from outside. I figured that it was Benny dipping into the corn tote. I was also hoping that maybe it was Houdini that decided to come back from after maybe adventuring around the area, but when I got out side, I found nothing. When heading back to the house, I saw a white deer at the very far corner of the yard. From where I was standing I couldn’t tell if it was in or out of the fence, so I was once again hoping that it was Houdini. When I was walking out there, the white deer ran deep in the hard and I realized that it was just Ke’less, but something was telling me that things weren’t right. So as I continued out to that area, I notice that a body of one of the bucks was lying on the grown near the old house. At first I figured that he and one of the other bucks got into it until I discovered the arrows. I was with no words to say other than to call the law. An investigation in on the way, and there are many hunters who are pissed off about it because they say it makes them look bad, but I don’t blame hunters, but one who is just being an ass.
Now here is the real shitty part. I’m going to have to figure out how to save up for a security system. Something with about six cameras. I just put up on hunting signs, but that is no way a guarantee that it will keep the deer from being shot.
There are a few who I suspect but the hard part is proving it. One person is an indirect issue, but from some things that I heard this morning kind of sings towards another one of my close neighbors. A big give away was the fact that my dogs on both occasions never made a sound, and now to find out, it’s getting out that his daughter got a crossbow for Christmas. It might not have been him, or even one of his family member, but that of a friend. There is always lots of traffic there. The other things that I have found out about I can’t talk about due to the investigation, but the law, local radio, and newspaper have been a great support.

I used to work at a bison farm here, and it wasn't uncommon to find wounded bison from gunshot, bows and even knives. There are just some messed up people out there with something to prove, and unfortunately at the cost of animals such as this.

A hunter didn't do this, nor was it a gun, but that of a coward with a crossbow whom gets off by taking life with out reason. I know several hunters who are very pissed off about what has happened because it made front page news locally, and has been on the radio. They say that it gives them a bad name, and many of them would like to teach who ever did it a lesson.
As for who a suspect who did it, he is probably pissed at me because he wanted sexual favors and I told him to get lost. "I'm not making that up." As for why the fingers pointing towards him, well I found a few clues, but they aren't solid. Also kids tend to brag about things that they have done, or get for Christmas. Damn, pure quiescence that my deer gets shot with arrows from a crossbow, and then I find out that the neighbor across the street gave his daughter a crossbow? Really? Crossbows are real rare around here.
There is no season to hunt Fallow unless they get out in the wild.
As for my Fallow Deer Gazelle, that really hurt me when I found him shot up with arrows. I could understand if he would of escape as was causing problems, but he was in his pasture just being himself. Whom ever shot him did it out of spite. There are those who don't put the same value on life like many of us do. As for the motive, it could be something as little of chaining a propane tank to a BBQ grill.
Of course, if it were my situation and I had unlimited funds, I'd go a step beyond. Say a new age tazer system. Because, I sure wouldn't just want to just see them, I'd want them down and unable to run for a trip to jail. (Or, if I say that I was fearing for my life and just happened to drop the gun when it went off...)
A few years ago, I read about this new type of tazer that has the voltage ride upon a laser beam. It was only prototype, though. Wonder how that project has turned out?
