Entering is easy. Just follow these 3 simple steps (too simple? Click here for details):
(1) be a furry/anthro artist
(2) fill out this really short form
(3) post a comment in this journal
The deadline is Feb 9th, 2014, 1800 Mountain Standard Time (that's Feb 10th, 0100 GMT)
P I T C H :: Why I'm doing this
P S A First of all, I want to draw attention to the rules at Anthrocon's 2013 Artists' Alley. In 2012 they changed a lot, and there are a lot of them, so I want to be sure everyone gets a chance to look at them ahead of time! In particular, sometime in May you will need to sign up ON LINE, BEFORE THE CON. No more at-con lottery. No more at-con craziness every morning.
BIG CHANGE IN 2012: we now charge 5% of your sales for using Artists' Alley!. I know, blasphemy, right? Thing is, my department was the only department not bringing in any revenue to counter our costs. In fact, the Alley lost money every year. Supplies, credit card charges, cash registers, power rental, space rental, labor (union), charge-backs, etc. So, now I have to collect something. There were a few options that were considered, and the 5% fee was selected. It'll be deducted from daily payouts when you come to collect (rounded to the nearest dollar, or maybe quarter).
On the plus side, we WILL have new registers! They've already been puchased, and the interface is being designed and programmed in advance of the Board meeting a month from now.
And with that PSA out of the way, on to the real reason I'm doing this:
B E C A U S E . . . January is now the unofficial month for me showing my appreciation for the artists in the community (aside from the usual thing, in the form of commissions). January 2014 marks the end of my 23rd year in this fandom, and the 3rd annual RAAM!
You artists contribute so much to the community, beyond just what you do to make a buck. There's a vim to your vibe that I think is the engine for this fandom. I love that about you. There's this ripple effect I see echoing from what you do, from how you act and feel in your posts, from the art you draw, the stuff you craft, and the cheer you bring to each customer and friend with your creations.
The world needs more of that. The world needs more of YOU.
Throughout 2013, you've put up with all sorts of stress and change and drama and annoyances. Some more than others. Some A LOT more than others. Y'know that one customer who constantly asks for more free changes? Y'know that one dude who was all pissy about how you drew too many toes on his 8-limbed character who is NOT a spider? Y'know that one gal who complained 'cause you didn't deliver the art on time, even though she didn't give you a deadline? Y'know how FC2014 was kind of a low-profit con for you? Y'know how the customs agent at the border TOOK ALL YOUR SHIT? (I'm looking at you, maxblackrabbit, and reusing that from 2013's RAAM, because damn!).
Yeah, you've put up with all sorts of grief. Well, here's a little something to balance that. It's after the holidays, y'all have gotten your gifts. Now it's time for one more. =)

I use random.org, per this completely indisputably transparent above-board corruption-free method. It's repeatable, drama-free, and 100% fair. Go read up on it if you care. ;) It's the same method I use for Anthrocon's Artists' Alley raffle, and the same method I used last year.
D I S C L O S U R E
This raffle is completely unaffiliated with Anthrocon itself. This is totally my personal doing, and my personal funding. I did not coordinate with anyone on this in any way. Beyond just wanting to express some good will toward artists in general, as the Artists' Alley manager at Anthrocon I just wanted to avoid some at-con insanity by spreading the word about the Alley changes and lottery signup changes.

That's it!
Thank you so much to all the artists in this fandom. You all rock. :)

FA+

Here, let me elaborate:
(1) :: This is for artists only. You must be an artist who has done at least one public 'furry' or 'anthro' commission for someone in the past year. A 'public' commission is a piece of art you did for someone else that you shared with the community in some way (like an FA submission, DA submission, forum post, print sales, etc). This is for artists only. And by 'artist' I mean to include crafters, musicians, and writers, too, not just the visual folks. If you're just a fan/follower/watcher/dabbler like me, don't enter. I'll have another thing coming up soon where you'll get a chance at some free art. :)
(2) :: You must fill out THIS FORM before the deadline. Notes and comments do not count as entries.
(3) :: Post a comment here saying "CAVEMAN!", and also link me to zero or more of your favorite artists. And if you're open for commissions, feel free to give yourself a shout-out in your comment. :)
Do those things, and you get 1 entry in the raffle! :)
* - Possible +2 BONUS! If you have done a commission or freebie art for me at any time before this journal is posted, you get TWO EXTRA entries in the raffle! That's a total of 3 entries! You still have to do step 2 and 3 to enter. DO NOT give me art now just to claim this bonus! It won't count! I'm not doing this to solicit freebies. I won't/can't stop you, of course, I'm just saying that doing so after this post won't earn you bonus points for this raffle.
* - Also, you don't need to post your own journals advertising this raffle. You won't earn extra credit by doing so.
So Stomp or am here or Cavemen not sure ! XD

Silverone's been on my wish list for eternity.
Yeah, just started watching them myself. Amazing feline sculpt.....that fur...gah. my hand hurts just thinking about how many hours they put in on that, lol. Looks amazing though.
I am open for commissions like these: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12505274/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12443101/
Thanks a lot for the chance!
No, you don't have to be a caveman to enter. I'd never tell someone 5000 feet tall ... well, anything. 'cause they would never hear me. Unless I was also 5000 feet tall, but then this raffle would be pretty pointless.
...
I don't know what I'm saying.
Okay i did my entrything! *sits.....scratches ear*
*wigglefidget*
is it Feb 9th yet? cx
I have lots of fav artists ;~; hehe

Also for artists I'd definitely say

(you'll qualify for 3 next year!)
Awesome, thanks!
I got ya in for 3 tickets! Good luck!
And I did this for you in 2013! Well, submitted 2014 but still :p http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12410108/
Oh well, next year I'll spell it out. :)
My fave artists would be these people
They're all quite well known already, but I wanted to link them since they've been a huge inspiration for me when I started on DA years and years ago, and they still keep inspiring me ^_^ kind of like childhood idols, haha! Thanks to them I really wanted to improve my skills too.
Alsoooo.. caveman!
Good luck!
Thanks for the opportunity Rooth. :)
You are so kind for doing this. It sounds like a dream come true!
I am open for commissions!
And I have too many favourite artists to mention. XD
So I just got this in my email and was like OMFG that is by far the sweetest thing ever! Also good to know about Anthrocon
My favorite artists
He's no on FA but his work is mind blowing http://willemsvdmerwe.deviantart.com/
Though it says Zero or more... so no sure if part of the rules were to not post any of your fav artist or not.
Favorite artists!
And I'll be open for PWYW and streaming commissions soon (today at some point), just don't have everything ready yet ^^'
Thanks for doing this!
Some of my favorite artists.
I am nearly ready to open up commissions but not quite yet so if you want to watch for them. :3
thanks for letting me know :)
You fill out a form, you post a comment, viola, done. :) It's a raffle for artists to try and win "art supplies" ($200 to any site of their choice for buying art-related things). The CAVEMAN thing is a confirmation that the participant read the rules. It's a very common tactic with raffles like this.
I do it every January (a little late this year), so tune in next year for another opportunity. :)
Man, almost missed it this year! (Thanks for the reminder email!) I'd post some artists, but I think most of the ones I'd mention have already been posted about. ^.^;
(Also, since your icon is what it is, I had to submit that as my extra credit Rooth!arts. <3! Still need to do another one with those macro/micro dragons. X3)
Welcome aboard!
Thanks! :D *cross fingers!*
It's after 1800MST February 9th. ;)
I'll run the raffle using tomorrow's random.org random seed (2014-02-10 -- whenever that gets posted)
FWIW, this journal was posted a week ago, but most artists don't watch me back (nor do I expect them to), so it got little exposure. >.>
