So it's basically Tetris with physics (Which you can play for free), but with auxiliary goals like collecting items and unlocking more odd shaped puzzle pieces.

It actually has a bit to do with the community; some artists from here on FA have been working on this game and it's nice that FA is giving back to the artists who give so much to the community by advertising it and spreading the word! It's a nice way to pay them back for all the years of free porn they give.

i don't think location matters anymore, one of the piratebay owners was arrested or something and doing illegal downloading is legal where they are from.

As someone who lives in Sweden, no, downloading movies/games/foo is not legal here. There's a whole lot of legal mumbo-jumbo and politics involved with how Pirate Bay has operated, and with the eventual legal actions taken against the founders, but downloading being legal was never a reason they went untouched as long as they did.

However, FA's servers are in the US, and we have to observe US law when it comes to illegal activity.

Actually, FA is advertising this game because several artists on this site have been part of the creation of this game. It's nice to give back to them when they provide you with free porn for years. Wouldn't consider that selling out as much as supporting folks in the community.

Check your math, please. Original announcement was made in January, so while I won't contest an update is overdue, it's been around two months, not three or four. I'll bug Neer about it some more, tho.

This game has been made many times before, I don't see anything new or exciting about it, it's just using elements from games that already exist

I was able to find some gameplay footage of it on YouTube. The impression I got is that there isn't anything that makes it stand out against the other two hundred and seventy-seven (I checked) stacker games that are available for iOS. And there doesn't seem to be a point to collecting stars or unlocking monsters, other than to be a completionist, since you get to use those monsters to stack anyway and you don't seem to be impeded by lacking stars. If I had to make a suggestion, make us go back with the monsters we unlocked if we want to three star levels or unlock other monsters. Give monsters special abilities to withstand environmental hazards. The description of the skeleton says it's strong against arrows, so make it immune to arrow towers/archers that are on the side of the map. If it had something that made it stand out, than maybe I would drop the three bucks for it. But I just don't see a reason to when there are literally hundreds of free versions.

Fav part of a con? Hanging out in fursuit and good programing panels with audience taking part.
