VOLUNTARY VACANCIES, Server outage and Constructorium news
11 years ago
For vacancies, see bottom of journal.
Our apologies for the recent outage of the Vulpine Laboratories OpenSIM server (it's like an open source Second Life that anyone can run a sim for), and of Yacy node and 2 CPUs of Folding@Home client and the yet to be properly set up Mediagoblin server. These were all running on Project Legotop, which has now died a death due to serious overheating caused by insufficient fan durability. *Shakes fist at Acer*
Anyway, a new server is being built, this build has just been delayed by 10 days due to a faulty PSU having to be returned and replaced.
We also have in the long-range periphery, via Projects Crafton & Xunk and I Think I Might Wear A Suit Today, a high quality web designer who will be sorting out the Dorset Constructorium website at www.constructorium.org to be more than just a wiki, and who will hopefully also be getting a physical space organised for the hackerspace. Once such a space is arranged, I will be able to focus on adding a DIYBio lab to it.
To take things forward more, I am looking for volunteers to join the Vulpine Designs Unlimited core effort (we are not for profit and have no money to pay you, at least none yet). To get an idea of what you are getting into, please Note me, join the forum at http://forums.vulpinedesigns.co.uk and/or email me via danfox [at symbol] vulpinedesigns.co.uk
Vacancies include but are not limited to:
Webmaster
Legal consultant
Vulpine Sea Power Novel Renewable Energy Engineer
PR & Marketing
Cryptocurrency expert (must be excellent at maths)
Cryptographic IT expert
Consultant Psychologist
Philosopher
Electronics Expert & Hardware Designer
Software Programmer
Wetware Programmer
I don't honestly EXPECT to fill any of them, but it's worth a shot.
