Trial by Ordeal

Picture a fellow both nude and restrained. His balls are secured in a vice or clamp arrangement, but not the usual bench vise sort of thing. There is not one big screw shaft to close the jaws. Instead there are a series of pieces (at least four) that can expand (and contract) that are remotely controlled. If they all were to be fully expanded at the same time, the pressure would be tremendous and the gap between the jaws quite narrow. At first, they are all the least expanded - there is some pressure, sure, but it's not bad... yet.

Looking up, he can see a set of windowed boothes. In each is the control for one of the expanding pieces. At each control is seated a female voter... or judge (and jury, and.. you get the idea.) They cannot see or hear each other. They might not know anything of each other, beyond that someone exists at another control. He can see them all, and they all can see him.

The controls can be worked to expand the clamp/vice pieces.. but once one maxes out, it begins shrinking again. The pieces or controls do not all have the same rate of recovery. This means that nobody can set set the control to full crush and leave it. A control left alone will simply never cause its piece to expand.

What can happen? They could all be nice and do nothing and just leave him sitting there, worried and bewildered. Or some or all could work the controls.. squeezing his balls in a somewhat random pattern. If they all did it long enough they might each figure out which piece they control and what the rate of recovering and re-activation is. And then they might just cooperate for their amusement at his permanent expense. It might need to be unanimous.. or maybe only a majority.. and a majority could even happen by accident.

It could be a long, painful trial, even if he makes it out without permanent injury.
