My Spring Break (cont.)

*blows off the dust of this old journal* Well seems a few wants to know, so I'll post about my experience over my "Spring Break"
3/9/14 - My mom went to file for her income tax
3/15/14 - We got word that we got the check early than expected
3/17/14 - We got a ride to go and cash the check of $1952 and then we left for Alabama Power Company to pay the back bill that was still in my grandmother's name. It was $817. We paid it in full. Big surprise is that we were planning to get electrical service back at my house. Its been 1 full year that we didn't have electricity in my home. So yeah, that was my surprise to tell everyone on here =D
Sadly we couldn't get our service then cause one of them required a lease to transfer my mom's name to the bill, though we spoke with a woman that told us that we didnt need a lease
3/18/14 - My mom mentioned to me that she went with a lease but they also required a Will stating that my grandmom left the house to us. That halted our progress of getting our lights on.
3/19 - 25/14 - We were busy trying to buy a lease and a will, also trying to get them filled out and whatnot. Also Spring Break started on March 24th
3/26/14 - We got the lease and will done. I was serious to get these lights on, so we left to get the lights on. This time we went to the same lady that told us that we didn't need the lease and she didn't even mention about a will. She didn't even need them. All she did was updated the service with my mom's name and just paid $220 for the deposit. She mentioned that they would be out there by tomorrow. We were super happy to hear the news that we will have lights on <3
3/27/14 - We waited ................... and waited ............. and waited .......... til I said I would call to see if they were on route. I called around 3PM or 4PM and here's the catch. They told me that there was a hold on the account cause we needed an inspector. I told my mom. She called back and got abit more info than I did. She was livid. She said that they sent an inspector to our house twice in the morning. They didn't leave any notice saying that they were there.
They also told my mom that they cant turn on the lights until our meter is lowered to about 6 feet and we have to hire an electrician to do that for us. We were super pissed when we heard that. We waited for nothing. I slowly was depressed that day -_-;
We have to hire an electrician to lower our meter. They seem that they cant send one out themselves -_-*********
3/28/14 - We tried to accept the terms but still was depressed and pissed. We were less pissed during the day. Te only thing that made us sad is that if we hire an electrician, we will have to pay, and currently we don't have enough to hire an electrician, even when our house is more than 25 years old...
3/31/14 - My mom called the power company again. Alittle more info added that they added. We still have to hire an electrician to lower the meter, but the electrician must go to the power company to get a permit, come out to lower the meter, then go back to tell them that its done. They will send the inspector out once again to see. If its done wrong, they have to go through the same thing all over again until its right. Once the inspector checks off that its done correctly and its in the right position (at least 6 feet), then and only then we can get electricity at our house.
That was my Spring break. An attempted to get our lights on.
I wanted to surprise you all that we were getting our lights back on from over a long year x-x
Sadly with so many halts is getting on our nerves.
All they want is the meter lowered so they can read it "At eye level" as they say. Why is this an issue? I'll link a pic of our light meter on our house that's been there probably since the house been built

YEAH THATS THE FREAKIN PROBLEM!!! I stand against the wall and I'm 5'11" and they want it about a couple feet or one foot lowered so they can "read it properly"
They want us to hire an electrician to lower it so the inspector can check it and make sure its right.
This is just a load of BS! We dont even have that kind of money to even hire an electrician. We paid roughly $1000 just to get our lights on ($817 on the old bill and $220 for the deposit)
This is why I didnt have a good Spring Break. I was expecting the lights to be on before spring break so I can enjoy it playing games and working on commissions that I still have to work on but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they want the god damn meter lowered -_-
If I ever needed help, this is the time where I need it the absolute most...

I know such things and it's even more complicated and highly regulated here in germany, especially basic things like electricity, building things on your own or other similar things, can take up weeks :/
