MCFC 2014 CON REPORT!

When I flew to Novi, I had no idea what kind of con MCFC would be. I attended FCN in 2011 and had a blast (see my old videos for proof) and like so many other furs in the fandom I was very pissed off and angry when I read that FCN had been shut down for good under some suspicious reasons. But enough said about that con. It's history.
When another group of furs decided to kick off MCFC I decided to attend anyway. Even if the con sucked, the attendees and partying would make up for it. But that didn't happen. I had another great time in Novi! The staff kept a lot of the things I liked about FCN (like free food and BEER for Sponsors and Super Sponsors), ran things well and efficiently, and preserved FCN's reputation for being a relax and party con. I really liked where they put things around the hotel this year.
I did a LOT of drinking and socializing... too much again (Bells Oberon Ale is goooood SHIT!). Thanks to all the attendees I partied with and all the fursuiters for posing for photos too. I did check out a few panels and most of the main ballroom events. I mentioned this in Q&A but having a few more musical performers like
hali would be nice. And Sunday's schedule seemed a little skimpy too. (That's one thing I hate about smaller cons - half the attendees leave right after closing ceremonies.)
(One weird thing.. it looked like the intersection around the Sheraton had really grown in businesses since 2011.. was the Meijer, Chilis, Five Guys there then?)
Because it was held in the Sheraton Novi (one of the friendliest hotels in the fandom where they let Furries be Furries) MCFC didn't feel like a new con. So if you loved FCN in the past and were scared off this year don't worry and make plans to return next year. To me that con in Novi just changed names and management and thats a great thing!
(BTW I'd love to make it back next year, but it's an long and expensive flight for me. And due to tight scheduling of cons, MCFC is now scheduled 3 weeks before FWA. And I really want to return to FWA now that it's in the Atlanta downtown Marriott.)
As always I shot a lot photos and videos. If I can get over this mild con crud that's dragging my energy down today. I'll edit and upload my video of the MCFC fursuit parade to YouTube and also my photos to Flickr & Photobucket this week! I'll also post the links here on FA and Twitter too!

Which may be a new record for a first time fur con.
(The intersection is pretty much the same as it has been since the first FCN back in 2008.)
