>D: Use Tilva's information to make everyone calm down.[/b]
You stand before Phiodel, who looked as though he was ready to throw all chivalry aside and smack you out of the way regardless of your parents' presence, Dorza, Dorze and the Wenta Council, all members of which watched in amazement, fear and outrage as you defended a known enemy of the village. Phiodel was seething, the fur of his lion's mane shaking from a rage-induced quiver that his face only barely kept hidden.
"Ana... I don't know why you're in my way, but-"
You could feel his words leading to a serious threat, so you reactively interrupt him before he could say anything that your Father might make him regret later.
"I'm in your way because he's not on their side anymore. He wants to tell the Councilors something important."
Phiodel held your gaze for a few seconds that felt as though it were a staring contest that might last for hours, but relented and turned toward the rectangular wooden table that seated the Council members. You followed his glance toward your Father, who had sat himself back down after the confrontation began, and used your manipulative expressions that had been exploited by daughters since time immemorial. Eventually, he spoke.
"Anamaki... are you certain that he can be trusted? Absolutely certain?"
You nod. "Yes, Father, he has shown me much about the Canids, and he wants to train me in the use of magic. I am certain that he does not want to help them any further."
Silence completely befalls the large meeting room, giving way to the sounds of nocturnal insects that echoed through the clay windows above. The Council members nervously look between you, Locam, Tilva and Phio, each of them expecting any of the four warriors to launch an attack and turn the chamber into a battle zone. Before that could happen, however, your Father speaks once again with a careful but approving tone.
"Very well... I will trust you, my child, and give him the benefit of the doubt."
Phiodel almost cuts his sides with his twin daggers as his arms fall limp, while the tiger twins glance at each other and calmly put their weapons away.
"Thank you, Father..."
Locam turns to the other Councilors, a low murmur coming from everyone seated at the table as a new conversation based on Tilvamido's acceptance begins. From what you could tell, your Father was struggling to convince them, not quite accepting his agreement based on the words of a single Huntress. You and the green-cloaked Lynx (A/N: Dunno if I gave him a species description before, but now he's a Lynx :P) make your way to the rectangular table that seated the Council members, joined by Dorza and Dorze as you pass them. Phio catches your sight as you pass him, however, and you can't help but notice the anger in his eyes. The blind fury directed at Tilva, someone that might as well have been an icon, a traitor who had helped an enemy that had taken away the family he'd never had mere days ago. And then you flinch when you realize that some of this anger was directed at you...
>Phiodel Relationship: -30
You take an empty seat near the end of the table and begin a lengthy explanation as Tilva starts going around and giving the Council members visions similar to the one he had given to you. Lacking anything as fanciful as a give-visions-to-everyone-in-the-room spell, he had to give these mental images one at a time, and it proved to be quite tiresome by the end of the hour that it all took. When he got around to Phiodel, the lion reacted almost violently as he told the Lynx to stay the hell away from his head, and so he respectfully moved along to the next Felinid over. By the end of the meeting, almost everybody was in agreement over Tilvamido's defection from the Canids, but before anybody could officially declare him a part of the Wenta tribe, a loud crackling noise interrupted the group. You turn your head along with everybody else, watching as a fissure runs up one of the Council Chamber walls, the baked clay used in its construction crumbling to bits and dust before reaching the open window, which allowed you to see the deep-blue skies of late twilight, as well as hear the startled shrieks of civilians as the terrors of the night came for them.
The Yaggan packs have come for dinner.
You look toward Phio, who seems to have already redirected his anger, and to Dorza, Dorze and Tilva. Each of them seem ready to defend the Wenta Village, nodding to you showing their readiness to follow your lead. You wonder why they have all silently elected you to lead them, but you know there is no time for questions. You get up and rush to the door, each of the four Felinid fighters close behind, and turn to the Council once you reach the doors, more so to your Father and Mother than the others.
"Stay inside, get upstairs."
And with that, you open the large double-doors and step into the night, only to witness a scene of carnage. The Yaggan have come in force, at least twenty of the dragon-cat beasts scurrying around the marketplace, tearing people apart and devouring remains as firey blasts chased under-equipped Hunters and Huntresses across rooftops and through alleyways. Smoke was already thick in the air from Phiodel's suggestion that large fires might keep them at bay, a suggestion that showed no effect. You allow yourself only a second to wonder how so many Yaggan were able to detect the reduced amount of defenders, but that second was fleeting. Somehow, the village had to last until sunrise, much like how every night used to be years ago. Step one, figure out where to start...
