Commission Rules/Terms of Service
as of 4/30/2014
Before we discuss your commission any further, please take a moment to read all of the following very carefully please. Once you’ve paid me and the process has started, you and I are both bound by these rules. It's very important that we have all our ducks in order.
Rule Number 1: Subject Matter
The most important point regarding your commission is what you’re having me draw. Included in my commission menu and prices journal is a list of things I am not willing to draw . These things include child / cub porn, incest, scat , water-sport and puke. Please ask me what I willing to draw. If I am uncomfortable to draw the subject matter I will simply say so. Please respect me and not push the subject if i will not draw it.
Rule Number 2: Payment
I take payment upfront. I prefer to use Paypal but I will also accept money orders credit cards. If using Paypal, money needs to be in U.S.D. I will reserve space but if I don't receive any payment, some one will be bumped up if you have not paid after I noted you. I will only hold a reserved spot for 1- 2 weeks. If you don't make the deadline you will forfeit your spot.
Refunds: I reserve the right to keep 30% of payment if you cancel the commission.
Rule Number 3: References
A good ref sheet is crucial if you want me to draw your character accurately. I generally prefer some sort of a ref sheet but if all you have are a few images, those will work too, provided they are full color and all necessary markings can be seen. If you have neither of these, a VERY detailed written description is acceptable, but please make sure you include all the important information.
Note: I will accept screenshots from SecondLife as reference sheets or Imvu.
Rule Number 4: Shipping Information
You pay for all shipping and handling charges. I prefer real names because some times the us postal office can be awful and lose mail. I go to the post office once a week. so I will note you when I send it out.
Rule Number 5: Use of My Characters
Generally, I’m just fine with any of my characters being included in pieces commissioned of me. There are specific rules to each of them, however, and I will need to discuss those with you depending on who you ask to have included in your art. As a general rule though, All my charters do not and I repeat do not appear in sexual artwork.
If you wish to draw my characters, I do appreciate being asked permission first, just to make sure my own boundaries regarding each of my characters are being respected. I reserve the right to re-post any art you’ve done for me, but I will of course give you credit. You may NOT, at any time whatsoever, commission any artist other than myself to draw adult art of ANY of my characters at all.
Rule number 6: Turnover Rate
When you commission me, your name is added to a constantly revolving queue, much like standing in line at the store. You begin at the bottom of the list and as I complete the commissions ahead of yours, your name will approach the top. Once its there, that’s when I begin your piece.
Typically, I complete 1-2 pieces a week, depend on how big this piece may be. Huge piece may take up to 3 weeks. If you would like to know where you are on my list please go see the list on my hp :
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/scales4sales/
I might skip around when my muse strike me and end up doing yours right away. It really all depends on my workload and what I feel like drawing. While I do like to work in order, that isn’t always the case.
Once I’ve begun your commission, it’ll only may take me a few days or a few weeks to complete it, depends on the subject. I try to give it my all when I do art so it might take me a few days to do yours.
Rule number 7: Sketch Approvals
I like to do what I call a foundation to what you would like. I hate to see customers not like what they paid for and I like to have repeating customers so if your not happy i am not happy.
Rule number 8: Customer Satisfaction
I always like to know if you like or dislike it. please feel free to tell me if you hate something or you love it. Please don't be afraid to ask to change something if you hate it. Your paying me to do art for you but if you hate it let me fix it till your happy with it. I love it when the customer is pleased with what i made.
Rule number 9: Re-posting
If you commission me, you absolutely have my permission to re-post the art I create for you wherever you like. All I ask that you put some kind of credit in there though somewhere, so that others can find me.
In return, I also reserve the right to re-post any art that contains my characters, whether it was commissioned by/for me or not. Please keep this in mind if someone approaches you and asks you to include one of my characters in a piece they are buying from you - if you have a problem with me re-posting, kindly decline to include my character.
Rule number 10: Birthday commissions,
If you commission me to do a birthday or holiday gift please send in request 2 weeks before the present to be turned in. I am always busy and I hate to drop the current commission for a present to be done. I like to complete drawings before I work on another one, it ruins my flow.
Rule number 11: Placing slots on hold,
I will allow 1 week to the day to reserve slots to be paid for. I will releases after a week. In the past I held on to spots and people simply forgot about it and move on. Now I have to crack down on it so other people who willing to pay up front will get their name pushed down the line faster
Rule number 12: Gift certificates,
*Theses certificate will be treated as commissions and you can redeem them anytime.
* Each certificate will be numbered.
*Once you have purchase a certificate there no time limit to use them.
* The person who purchase them must send me the note to whom the certificate is for so I have it for my book keeping for who has what and how much was gifted for.
* Theses will be counted in raffles I hold that calls for commissioners.
Rule number 13: Policy on free stuff,
1) Be POLITE. Don't just throw your ref up and EXPECT art. I'm doing this because I want to be nice. I am not an art machine.
2) If you don't like the finished product. Please tell me I'll touch it up the best I can when I have time but please don't harp on me.
3) Do NOT alter my work at all. If you don't like what I did for you, TELL ME and I will fix it if when I have time.
4) Don't bug me about it. Asking "is it done", I find this very rude, and I likely won't draw anything for you ever again if you pester me. This is a warning.
5) READ THE BODY OF THE JOURNAL/CAPTION. Nothing irritates me more then pushy people who don't read over things. If you can read Free ART I know you can read beyond that point.
6) If you are applying for a free , keep in mind that this is something to do out of the kindness of my heart to make people happy, don't ruin it for others with your complaining things are not done.
I will keep this journal as a rule sheet of sorts, and it will be linked in every FREE ART journal I post, as well
Rule number 14: physical art " Fur-suits, puppets, doll and ext.",
A. Theses items will ONLYbe purchase at the time of auction.
B: At the point of winning an auction 50% payment will be due upfront.
C: There will be no alterations. (I work hard on these items to create them and to change it could mess up the entire system.)
D: In a ladder auction, the rest of the item will be finished once 50% payment is made. 30% of this payment will be non refundable. If you back out I hold right to resell the item.
E: Items will not be shipped until full payment is made.
Rule 15: If at anytime, you the commissioner become too hard for me to deal with. (Rude, blatantly unpleasant, incapable of being pleased) I hold the right to give a refund of the commission, still holding 30% for the non refundable portion.
I think that covers it all.
