Prince Vaxis Character Usage Agreement
Please take a moment to read this. Especially if you're an artist drawing for me
This document describes the terms for my consent for the use of the furry character "Prince Vaxis" for content creators and commissioners.
By depicting Prince Vaxis in any medium, or otherwise attempting to use him or his likeness, you agree to the following terms:
(1) Prince Vaxis is not a public character, for RP or otherwise, and shall not be depicted without my permission. The character is entirely owned by me, and all rights to the character and his likeness are entirely held by me.
Note: Permission to draw Prince Vaxis is of course granted to the artist if I (
prince_Vaxis ) am the commissioner to have him drawn.
(2) No media of Prince Vaxis shall be posted without the creator's explicit approval. This includes general releases of "Works in Progress".
Before any media depicting Prince Vaxis (or his likeness) is posted, it must be approved by me
prince_vaxis .
(3) I retain the right to post any media anywhere (with credit given to the artist, of course) that depicts Prince Vaxis or his likeness. I can post without permission of the artist and at my sole discretion (unless special agreement of exceptions is reached prior). Artwork posted before this Journal's release date(5/25/2014 @ 7:33PM PST) does not apply to this, as artists had no chance to agree nor disagree. I will not commission artwork from Artists who demand to retain sole legal ownership, and all content therein, for themselves, as this jeopardizes any future claims I might have to the artwork in question, should future conflict surface.
Commission Policies(Artists please read)
(4) I retain the right to refuse paying until I have seen, and subsequently accepted, any Work-in-Progress sketch(es) associated with the commission in question. If this conflicts with the artist's own policies, I will not commission them.
(5) I have the right to order the removal of any media depicting Prince Vaxis or his likeness and for any reason, at any time.
(6) I refuse to pay any and all seller's fees that Paypal may require in order to complete the transaction; it is simply not my responsibility.
(7) Unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, self-entitled, arrogant, or directly immature behavior at any point during the commissioning process will not be tolerated. If payment has already happened, The work will be complete and after that I will blacklist the individual. If no money has passed hands yet, I will cancel the commission.
(8) Failure to uphold your end of the deal, be it accidental or intentional, will result in a refund matching the amount of work done. If the art is 50% done, I will request a 50% refund, for example.
NOTE: All points of interest above apply to Prince Vaxis' alternative appearance, known as Princess Vaxi, as well, and should be treated no differently from her male counterpart.
These rules are to minimize the number of incorrect or inaccurate depictions of Prince Vaxis, and to maintain an overall high standard of quality and accuracy for the Prince Vaxis character, his likeness, and his canon. If these rules are not acceptable to you, you do not have permission to depict Prince Vaxis, in any artwork, on any website/forum/misc. media, what so ever. In the event that a content creator changes his or her mind on these terms after a commission has begun, I expect the payment to be returned in full, and the work-in-progress will be destroyed. This means the WiP sketches, and all other misc. gathered info, on any digital device which has these images/information stored, be deleted, permanently(no recoloring or depicting the Prince Vaxis character as another character is permitted, ever).
This agreement is subject to change at any time, so if you're an artist who frequently does Prince Vaxis artwork, you may want to check back periodically, although any changes are likely to simply reinforce or clarify the rules listed above.
Thank you

I've already had people try to steal him and claim him as their own, which is like kidnapping me because he's me in every mental way and a little of the physical.
My best advice is to write something like this up for both artist reference as well as for people who question your rights to own. The sooner you do it, the better, cause the first date is first serve.
I had someone steal Z'Raa and try to sell him as an adoptable, claiming she created him from scratch and was bored of him. She couldn't name a single significance of his markings and even went so far as to report all of my art of him as stolen. She even reported my Facebook like page and profile page for impersonating her, but luckily neither of them got taken down.
I also had someone use my name on Elder Scrolls Online, but luckily some of the staff are familiar enough with me AS Z'Raashaq that they made the guy change his character name.
The Lyrian is a closed species created entirely by
I mean think about it...If you can't copyright species, how can Pokemon by copyrighted? How can digimon? How can any species presented in fictional media be protected under copyright laws if what you say is true? Exactly, they couldn't, which is why what you're saying is completely utterly wrong.
Please make sure you take a moment to THINK about what you're saying before you start spewing untruths about my Character Usage Agreement, which I made phone calls to my lawyer to inquire on whether or not was solid in court. IT IS solid in court, and everything in it is accurate and legally binding, lol. I did my homework sweetheart. Clearly you didn't.
I always wondered this.
Something short and naughty of course.
Can I?
"(8) Unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, self-entitled, arrogant, or directly immature behavior at any point during the commissioning process will result in an immediate forced refund through Paypals policies, as well as an irrevocable block."
It makes it sound like you are giving yourself the right to refund their payment on a whim even after they have delivered the finished piece.
Like if an artist delivers a finished piece a week before the deadline, and they make a joke like, "A week early? Man, I'm awesome!" Oops, that's unprofessional, arrogant, obnoxious, and immature. Refund, Block, and Keep the finished piece.
I am not saying you would, but your rule is worded in such a way as to allow just that.
But I can and will do so if needed. The point is that if I don't feel the artist deserves my business, or takes it serious enough to be professional and courteous? Then they most certainly shall not have it.
It would be like eating a full course meal, then when the check comes, declaring that you didn't like the appetizer, so you refuse to pay.
