commission/ Iron Artist FAQ (Ask away!)
Hey guys!
I've had people ask me questions which I wasn't able to answer immediately, so I'll make this journal to answer any concerns and questions regarding them!
Feel free to ask me via comments, and I'll respond if there's not other duplicate question to the best of my abilities.
Disclaimer: This message regards both normal and Iron artist commissions - Business between client and commissioner is finished upon final approval of the image. I am not obligated to make revisions to your picture once our business agreement has been fulfilled. Please don't come to me a week, a month, or a year down the line for a revision after this period and expect me to do so, I am not obligated.
I will also not make revisions by request of anyone OTHER then then the client.
FAQ
how do you get on the list to get one?
Via Google docs when the link is posted. It is removed when I close the applications process.
Can you get a second one?
You can! but I will more often then not favor those who haven't already gotten work from me.
How long do you plan on taking Iron Artist Commissions?
It's ongoing until I get bored of this style of commission.
Do you draw more dynamic poses with these? Like, action-oriented scene with movement in it
I'm trying to, drawing so many commissions has me worried about stale posing. I try not to do similar poses to previous commissions I've done so I'm trying to be unique as best I can in that respect.
How long does it/will it take for you to complete one? (The Iron Artist)
IA commissions take me from an hour and 15 minutes to complete to 2 hours depending on complexity. Commissions are posted in batches at the end of the day.
Unless it's the weekend, then people might not see their product until Sunday or Monday.
Are the commissions wing it style or are commissioners able to make suggestions?
Wing-it style is the general concept. But people are allowed tell me what they want and suggest revisions if I make a mistake.
Is the method first-come-first-served? Assuming there are far more people which apply than get a slot, would you not prefer to choose characters which interest you to draw?
I pick and choose applications usually. I generally lean towards brief explanations of what the client wants and avoid applications which have a lot of intricate wording on character do's and dont's
Currently IAs are first come first serve and fill up within minutes. Have you considered a lottery system or other method for the slow to react?
I like to receive payment asap and don't like waiting on clients. A lottery system would slow the process down and I could end up waiting on payments for a while.
Are personal commission allowed ( In other words you wont post the submission anywhere if the commissioner asked you not to)?
Yes, of course.
Do you mind doing humans for these?
I will draw humans yes.
Can I get two characters?
The price will be doubled.
Can we get high res copies of our files?
Yup, I don't delete anything
How much do they normally cost?
Prices are not available at the moment, since I keep updating types.
You finished the picture and I recently updated my reference (after the fact) can you revise my IA?
depending on detail I will charge if you want something amended in the future.

FA+

And I assume they use the google doc to apply when you open?
What's your biggest worry?
What's the hardest obstacle?
How do you make everything so varied? (I would have drawn my limit on poses etc by now)
I'm assuming you prefer NSFW stuff, how comes?
My biggest worry is I know a lot of people apply for these and sometimes would get tired of resubmitting and loose interest. I get around 10 applications in 2 minutes so I have to close fast or else I'll be flooded.
Hardest obstacle is is thinking up new poses and not getting stuck or hung up on poses I"m having trouble with.
I use ample references to try and make unique poses.
I prefer NSFW because then I don't have to draw clothing, clothing adds more time to my process.
Not everyone is an internet zombie like me.
one day, i will be lurking at the right time and snag one!
Every time I've came close I've either had to head off to work, or in the case fate deciding to laugh at me the power of my whole city went out like a couple minutes before you opened TwT
I charge 75$ automatically for reserves, and reserves must be made a day in advance. However, once again I do not like taking reserves and limit them to one or two a week if at all.
Have you ever lacked the inspiration to draw a pic? How did you deal with it, if yes? They are all drawn quite fast and all are different, so it's really impressive!
The only other method of getting a full piece is by purchasing a collaboration commission from myself an
Currently I don't open for full commissions.
Is there a way to obtain a high res file of the IA artwork you have gotten? would an extra fee be applied to get it?
I like to have the high res works for personal use, like a little extra only for myself ^^'
also, not sure if you answered this somewhere but what's up with your patreon? i can't find your support page, or it's not letting me become a patreon for you.
2, I stopped using Patreon due to it's poor payment system. It wasn't worth chasing declined payments in the end, people were pledge hopping and just overall I wasn't interested.
I won't refuse anything outside of cub though.
Thank you so much for making art so beautiful!!! <3 <3 <3 <3
Would you be willing to take artistic freedom if there was no full body image?
I was wondering if u are up for a collaboration! The idea is to draw a fighting dynamic scene, between 2 characters (well-known) fighting each other, what do u think?
That would be awesome! Im working on some cool collabs with other artists and I would love to make one with u if u want, since Im planning to make a book and gather them all in there! So I would love if you could be part of it!
Here u have my page so u can see if u are interested to work with me on that
https://www.instagram.com/inkartluis/ 😉 let me know cheers
I was just wondering if you had an idea of when you are going to open up for commissions again. I would love to try and get one when you do :)
