BOWLING MEET (JUNE 7TH 2014)
Hosted by
Location : Callahan's Bowl O Rama, Berlin Turnpike, Newington CT
Time : 7:00pm
Cost : 10$ per person for two games and shoe rental
ADDRESS FOR BOWLING:
143 Berlin Turnpike
Newington CT
Fursuitting is encouraged but while bowling you MUST wear bowling shoes, this is for safety reasons as instructed by the bowling alley.
Tails, ears, anything furry related is welcome!
There is a bar on the premises but please drink responsibly.
Bowling is optional....you do not have to bowl if you attend. You can just come to hang out and have fun too. But if you bowl, you MUST pay the 10$.
Before we start I will be collecting everyone's money, if everyone can please come with cash to make it easier on the bowling alley, but credit cards are also accepted.
If anyone is coming from more than an hour away, there is plenty of hotels on the berlin turnpike if need be including a best western, holiday inn, quality inn, and numerous other motels.
There is also plenty of places to eat on the berlin turnpike if you want food before hand. Mulitple fast food places (McD's, BK, Wendy's, Arby's, Doogies (hot dogs), Panera Bread, and more. And then a ton of sit down places too like Chili's, Ruby Tuesdays, TGI Fridays, Outback, Joey Garlic's
We share the bowling alley with all the other people as well so please be on your best behavior and please do not interrupt other people bowling. I know people do sometimes come down to us or we walk through the alley and people come up to us....but while people are bowling please do not disturb them. The last furbowl I heard people saying they wanted to move lanes to be further away from us, whether it's just because they want to be further away from us or because there was an issue, I don't know. But just be on your best behavior.......there are kids in the alley so no scream swearing or anything,

AUGUST 19TH
LAKE MEET @ LAKE MASHAPAUG LAKE
website for park - http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp.....epNav_GID=1650
For the time it would literally be all day. The park does not close until sunset so people are more than welcome to stay until then (but have to leave before dusk). Also I forgot to say that dogs are welcome, supposed to be on a leash but some people don't always follow that.
I try to get there early to avoid paying the parking which is usually open by 8am.
Fees for parking ar as follows: if someone has an out of state plate, it's cheaper to carpool with a CT plate diver if possible.
KEY: R = CT Registered Vehicle Fee NR = Out-of-State Registered Vehicle Fee
State Park Fees
Weekends/Holidays
$ 9.00 R
$ 15.00 NR
$5 R after 4 pm
$6 NR after 4 pm
Location is Bigelow Hollow state park.
I-84 to Exit 73 (if on 84 EAST) or 74 (if on 84 WEST), then follow Route 190 north to Route 171 east to the park entrance. (It's literally a straight drive, there is a huge hill to go down before the park entrance so you know you are on the right path) From the entrance cars drive all the way up until they can't drive any more then hope they can find a spot in the closest space to park. From the main parking lot there is a boat launch and the trail to get to the lakeside.
There are multiple places to gather all around the lake if you follow other trails but I think the main lake spot would be easist to meet up at. Again, there is a distance to walk which needs to be stressed for people carrying a ton of stuff or any disabled furs. Again NO alcohol and litter must be carried out, there are dumpsters in the parking lot. Also there are outhouses so if people don't like useing them to pee then they should be forewarned.
It can get busy there so appropriate behavior (within reason) is assumed. Kids are around and I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem but figured I'd mention it.
If you want to put up a post about bringing food or something that would work out. I know I can't afford to feed a ton of people if they show up unfortunatly :x
I think that's all the info. Some people may need carpool opportunities, Shu and I are in manchester so if you know someone near by then I may have room for them. (3 max with some squishage)
If you have nay other questions let me know. Thank you for even concidering this. :)
IF THERES ANYMORE MEETS YOU GUYS WANT TO BE POSTED HERE FOR THIS MONTH. NOTE US ASAP.
