My friend  miki has done sculpting and costumes for movies and is starting to work on fursuits. Pretty sure she's open for one if you're interested, though she doesn't have a lot of those examples on her FA (she has photos elsewhere).

If you want to have the red-wig, I would really suggest ArendStudios. They did my lion suit which has a red-wig and it's really incorporated well. They do very nice, toony looking suits which hold up pretty good.

The other major maker I'd suggest is Mixedcandy, but getting a commission from her can take a -very- long time. She does amazing work that holds up really well. My husband has a white tiger suit which he adores from Mixedcandy.

The third option I'd suggest is DontHugCacti. They are fairly new and have done a few tigers already. They are still open for commissions unlike many other makers (including the two above) who have long waiting lists.

I would avoid Scribblefox and Jax, as I've heard bad things about them and finishing suits. Scribble's stuff is more hyper-realistic anyways so it really doesn't fit what you're looking for.

Hey there, I know of two great makers - who actually made mine and my partners suits.

The first being Lindsey at furhappens: http://www.furhappens.com/
She's very experienced and created a fantastic happy/friendly/cheeky look on my Alfa suit

The other being Ravyn at foxwolf: http://www.foxwolf.ca/fursuits.html
She has a wealth of talent and constructed a very handsome, regal wolf for my partner, with a cheeky/devious flair from certain angles.

These are who I've had dealings with and I'd recommend both. Couldn't quote whether they are open for commissions atm or even prices or wait times but they are worth checking out definitely.

Just remember, fursuit or not you are always welcome along to any Londonfur meet - but the more suits that come along each time, the merrier I say! =P

Goodness of course you're welcome! Suiters are the minority anyway - it's more about just getting a good bunch of furs together in a nice place for a good time :)

well, there is  beetlecat up here in Alberta, however she's closed for full suit commissions as she's incredibly busy. Her work is more realistic and less cartoony, but DAMN, it's absolutely amazing. Especially check out her RedXIII suit... if you really wanted Joshua to walk right off your pages, she would be an excellent one to work with but you'll likely find yourself waiting a long, long time for it.

yes, i did actually see her work and was very impressed and sad she is closed which is a shame. i wouldnt mind a realistic look to be honest. either would be cool. and yes, that RedXIII suit really is amazing!

And when you do get a Joshua suit made, you should also find someone to make you a spiffy looking flight suit ;)

The head, paws and tail of Rallicat were by LatinVixen, it's one of her "Use your own eyes" suits. The bodysuit was made by Deezlberries, who doesn't do suit comissions.

I would mention a fursuit maker, but from my understanding she is very hard to get a hold of, and she is backed up to like 2012. That's all she does for a living is make fursuits. I use to know her personally, but she has changed quit a bit, and is no longer the friendly happy person I knew her to be, plus her suit range in the 3000.00+ dollars. I have looked over the other places that everyone here has mentioned, and honestly once I have the money I be choosing one from here. ^.^

ya, i guess at the moment i have a bit of a budget. but as soon as i sort of know what to expect price wise, i will try take on commissions to raise money for one :3 so will work my tail off in the next few months hehe mixed candy looks just perfect for what im looking for too.

Fullsuit from mixed candy your ruffly looking at about 3000usd Indludeing every thing O.o And if your going to be Useing it a lot i would advise you to get some spair stuff. Talk to miles (foxart) later, And well expane some more to you ;p :)

Well price wise, at least speaking in USD I know most suits will range (comissioned if you dont build your own) will set you back at least 1200. For a good, solidly made cartoony style of suit I would say save up to as much as 3k. I've never heard of a cartoony style suit going for more than that though. The really expensive ones 3k+ from what I've heard are pretty much allways the realistic looking ones.

To give you an idea check out the concept work for the suit I'm having made on my FA. That suit, however i t really turns out looking (Armor + realistic suit + cooling vest) is going to set me back at least 5500 USD, possibly abit more if I go iwth a higher end cooling vest (best one offered that I've seen would add another 200 to the price tag from the basic modle I'm aiming at right now).

Thats for a realistic style suit that also has a full suit of vacume formed plastic armor that goes over it. That is also with only a moving jaw and no animatronic options. I know if I wanted really cool toys put into it I would be looking at at least as mucha s another 500-2k if not more.

I'd do it too if I had that kind of money, but as it is part of the suit is going on the old credit card. Far more expensive in the long run to do it that way, but at least this way I can get the kind of suit I actually want.

I think  nikku may fit your style, though she is not taking fursuit commissions at the moment (but since you said it may be awhile anyway I figured I would bring her up). She is also more affordable than others, but only does partials rather than fullsuits and I don't think she does follow-me eyes (nonetheless I like her eyes!). She made my big fluffy tail which I absolutely love, and I'm a huge fan of her Tauren partial. Another good one is  beastcub, she is also more affordable and did my Bill fullsuit (http://www.zeitgeistfurry.com/MFF08.....s/DSCN0323.jpg - the blue donkey), which I adore. I worked very closely with her to make sure the suit came out as near as possible to my design and I'm quite pleased with the results. She can work from realistic to toony and if you want can pretty much replicated your own design into a fursuit. Anyway she did it with various cosplay costumes and mine. :)

I have to give a shout out for Mixed Candy as well. I got my partial suit (head and footpaws) from them and it turned out super awesome. Toony and fun! http://mixedcandymascots.com/galler.....foxes/Artamis/ is the gallery for my suit's head at least. Hope that helps!

A fursuit adds kind of a secondary experience to going to a con, and it gives kind of a thrill to walk up to a mirror and see your animal self looking back at you instead of your normal human one... that and suddenly everyone wants to hug you and take your picture. :o)

I was a sports mascot in high school and it was amazing! Closest thing I've gotten to being in a fursuit (since it wasn't an animal really, more a strange character). I've decided that as soon as I can afford one I'm getting a fursuit. From everything I've ever seen the suiters really know how to have fun, and I know I always had a great time in my suit. I too, am trying to get more active in the fandom, though sadly I have yet to attend my first con. I'm hoping to make the rounds here in the US, and maybe even make it to some like RBW. Hope you're able to find what you want! I'd love to see a Joshua suit!

There are only three problems with fursuits:

1) They are expensive

2) They are BOILING

3) No matter how skinny-yet-voluptuous you are, a fursuit will never be as skinny-yet-voluptuous as Joshua.

I think I mentioned it before, but my mate,  sonartoo makes fursuits. She has actually made a white tiger suit, with sewn in stripes. I highly recommend her, as her prices are very reasonable.

Honestly, I never liked fursuits. Oh I'll admit some of them are damn creative, and there are times i want to mug people and steal whatever cash cache they have to be able to buy them (seriously, light up eyes and animatronic tails? x_X) However, the whole 'mascot look' thing never really appealed to me.

Now someone with skin-tight gloves, suit/bodypaint, rational shoes, and facepaint/prosthetics? THAT'S cool in my book. I dunno, the whole "big suit" thing just makes it too cartoony for my tastes.

I've got to rep my home girl, LatinVixen of Mixed Candy. Her suits are the consistently of the greatest quality and made as close, if not even closer, to the commissioner's vision than even the concept art. She is currently accepting commissions for 2010, so it's a ways off, but you'd only have to put half of it down now. I think she does realistic suits really well, but I think, and most agree that cartoony styles are her forte!

i have an idea about the eyes if they wanna try being creative you wannaanimw glare like your avvy pic right?the normal eye but with a glass overlay tinted for the pupals so the eyes would cut glare and work as pupals

Yeah, I feel one way to get myself more well known in the community would be to get a fursuit ( cause I really can't draw or anything ^^; ) because I like acting and I think I could act well in a fursuit, even if it's just for fun :3

I would stick with toony for Joshua. The realistic suits are *incredible*, but if you're like me, you're looking to bounce around and have fun and really look like your character.

MixedCandy (mixedcandy.com) because LV can make *anything* look super cute!
B3Mascots (http://b3mascots.com/) (take a look at his *newer* suits, as he's improved greatly very recently!)
Luskwood, though I don't know too much about them, tends to make reaaaally cutesy totally cartoony suits, assuming you give them a good ref to work off of, as they draw their "style" from that. (luskwood.com)
And yeah, alot of the other people mentioned here are really good too! :3;;

I know alot of people tend to go for the likes of mixedcandy (latinvixen) but they do tend to cost an absolute fortune. That's really the only person I know off the top of my head that does fursuits. I've always been curious about them myself but only ever seen one or two of my friends wear them or other peoples in photos :X

I probably would have one myself if I could afford it, but because I live pretty far away from other people that are into the same thing I figure it would be kinda pointless.

fursuits are so epic, i really want one too but they are so godawful expensive D: and if i did get one my parents would be kinda weirded out XD

but anyway,

but in the end its your opinion on which one joshua would look better in :3

I would actually recommend  FirestormSix! He does some pretty good feline suits!

As many people have already suggested Arend Studios, I won't put a link up as you don't need to have the same URL 23 million times. I can honestly reccomend the quality of WhiteyFawks' craftmanship, but I'd suggest that you order early, as he has a habit of leaving some things until the last minute occasionally, which can be a wee bit stressful if you're just about to head overseas for a con, and your suit is (meant to be) meeting you there. Other than time issues, I can't fault his stuff at all, I love my SnowCheetah suit :)

Having done a great deal of performance in fursuits, please remember the single most important rule....

STAY HYDRATED!

I suggest a well known wolf for suits. He did an awesome job on mine & a friend's two suits.
 noblewolf Noble Wolf is a great guy, and does a great job. He also charges a fair price, and has a decent turn around time for suits compared to the bigger people like Mixed Candy & Scribble.

To do you justice, I must say go with www.onefurall.com. Scribblefox suits are some of the most amazingly perfectly balanced mixtures of realistic and toony suits. Out of all the cons I've ever attended, they catch and stay in my mind the longest.

I think you've got a lot of talent, and being able to draw well really helps making suits...have you considered taking a stab at making your own? You might be really good at it :)

I don't know about style, but LatinVixen on here is a rather renowned fursuit maker.

I had the same experience you did earlier last year at Howloween over here in Vancouver.

Difference was, I was quite skeptical of fursuiters, till I got to experience what you did: Seeing the word through their eyes.

Its a wonderful thing, being able to act as a character, and entertain others and make them laugh. There's some sort of satisfaction that can't quite put my finger on, but it feels good! =3

Personally, I think either LatinVixen's, Whitey Fawks' and Luskwood's have styles suitable to build Joshua =3

she is very very very very almost STUPIDLY cheap, and she's getting better with every suit you do.

If you havn't noticed- many fursuiters own multiple suits. I say you start off with a suit from Brio and then work up a good rep and fanbase, then you go look for a mmore professional and expensive artist to make you a newer, and more updated one if the opprotunity ever comes.

Brio is making me a mask, a tail, and FIVE BADGES for 50 bucks (and I supplied the fur)

I wish I made full suits, but I only do partials D: I'd have loved to take on the project! :D I'm working on my first tiger/wolf hybrid right now come to think of it :D Anyway, Might I suggest whoever you go with use faux fur for the hair? Wigs always look so flat and unnatural on fursuits if you ask me :/ You can get amazing and cute effects with long pile red fur! Anyway, good luck!
